5 TopicsPBIRS with Custom Authentication in Non-Domain Environment
Due to various operational constraints, our Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) has to be deployed in a non-domain environment. The Windows authentication mechanism in PBIRS has proven to be very cumbersome. Specifically, when the webpage loads, the call to the `api/v2.0/me` endpoint consistently takes 6-7 seconds to complete, which severely degrades the user experience. Additionally, we've encountered a critical issue: Power BI Desktop and the Power BI mobile app are unable to connect to the report server via the REST API when Custom Authentication is enabled. This has been a long-standing problem that has significantly impacted our daily workflow. We sincerely hope the official team can prioritize and optimize this as soon as possible. It would be greatly appreciated if compatibility with Power BI Desktop and the Power BI app under Custom Authentication could be added in a future update. Without this improvement, our daily work will remain very inconvenient, which is truly disappointing. Looking forward to your timely updates. chrisfin; mgmeyer We have asked on here a few times what is on the roadmap and the next release. We normally just get it will be updates since the last release, not helpful for us to plan with. We are still missing some important parts from the web version. Nice to see an update on PDF though. Are we expecting anything else on the list. I am really interested in arcGIS being made available as the Bing Maps are not up to date and do not work well when only using part of a postal or zip code.Solved2.5KViews0likes3Comments4 Months since Last Release
v-yulgu-msft, riccardomuti, mgmeyer It has been 4 months since the last release and we have voted on a number of issues with zero update, Including increasing the releases. In here it states 3 releases a year. This means we must be due a new one soon. I am getting a little concerned now as to why you are silent on this and what we can expect. Can somebody please enlighten the community as we have asked numerous times and a wall of silence is not the best customer service sorry.1.6KViews2likes3Comments
