Hi every one, Hi understand from the Power BI October 2025 Feature Summary blog post that Power BI is transitioning from Bing Maps to Azure Maps. The article details the migration for Power BI Desktop, Web (Edit-mode), and Power BI Report Builder (PBIRB) for paginated reports. While the post outlines a two-phase migration for paginated reports from Bing Maps to Azure Maps in PBIRB and eventually in the service, it is not explicitly clear what the implications are for Power BI Report Server environments. Can the Power BI team confirm if the transition from Bing Maps to Azure Maps for Power BI Desktop and paginated reports will also affect Power BI Report Server? We’d appreciate details on the timeline and any necessary steps for existing reports using Bing Maps visuals. Best regards! bcdobbs d_gosbell If I host my data model in a premium capacity workspace, is it possible for me to run any endpoint/REST API to return the result of a DAX query in a browser, for example something like https://api.powerbi.com/v1.0/myorg/datasets/{datasetId}/EVALUATE VALUES(Org[Mgr]) I went through Announcing the public preview of Power BI REST API support for DAX Queries and Datasets - Execute Queries and did not find anything. I am simply trying to understand if there is a way for me to fetch the data (of the multidimensional data model) from the SSAS server outside of Power BI environment. If I can access the dataset externally (outside of Power BI), I can further process the data to my req (for example, developing visualization using other languages to display the viz in a browser and let my audience consume it through the browser).Solved1.7KViews0likes2Commentsrole level security

Hello everyone, Me and my company are quite new to Power BI but we've already created many reports and received positive feedback from the users. As we're creaing more reports, we need to spend more time on managing the access. In most of the reports we use RLS. Could you please share your experience how to manage many access request, how to deal with reports where we have many levels of security. Should we create groups to avoid adding single users? What are you reccommendation, experiences, etc.? What are the best practices in this field? Thanks in advance, Jagoda628Views0likes0CommentsExecutionLog3 Fields and Values Explained for Power BI Report Server
Hi All, I am new to Power BI. I am attempting to build a usage metrics report for dashboards published on the Power BI Report Server. In another thread, I found that I could use the ExecutionLog3 table for this project. Upon analyzing the ExecutionLog3 table, there are some fields and possible values that I do not understand what they mean. I have checked the microsoft documentation but doesn't go deep on some of the fields and values. Appreciate if someone can explain to me the following: No Key term definition A ItemAction 1 ASModelStream 2 ConceptualSchema 3 DataRefresh 4 GetExcelWorkbookInfo 5 QueryData 6 RenderExcelWorkbookInfo 7 SaveToCatalog B RequestType 1 Interactive 3 Live G Status 1 rsInternalError 2 rsSuccess K TimeStart L TimeEnd Thanks in avance3.1KViews2likes1CommentPowerBI Report Server using Azure's Premium license.
Hi, I'm researching to add approximately a class of 35-40 students to a premium Azure account VM which will run PowerBI premium server. I have a University department's premium license for Azure. I was thinking of setting up a PowerBI report server using the Azure's premium license. I used the Pricing Link and it shows me that it would cost around 5.2k for 35 Pro and 5 Frequent Users. I have been reading the costs and usage, but the students in the class will use just the basic features and share reports with each other. Would we require to set up 35 PowerBI Pro license to create and share reports and 5 PowerBI licenses for frequent users? I am not sure about setting up a report server and test adding users directly in case it starts adding up costs to the Azure's subscription. Any pointers would be really helpful.
