Hi there Fabric Experts. I am trying to copy data(using Copyjob) from SQL on prem to fabric SQL database. My connection works just fine and I can connect to the datasource, view the tables, select incremental column and select my Fabric SQL as a destination(the fabric SQL database exists in the same workspace). However when I run the copyjob it fails with the below error: Fabric activity failed. ' Error occured while trying to get FabricSqlConnectionInfo. Please retry later. Detailed Message: 'StatusCode: NotFound, WorkspaceId: myid, ArtifactId: sqlID, Error Code: ItemNotFound, Message: Could not found the requested item,"errorCode":"ItemNotFound","message":"Could not found the requested item"}' '. Note, ids are masked due to security. It seems to not be able to find the Fabric SQL database although it's created and I can select it as my destination on the CopyJob UI. I can also view and query the Fabric SQL database perfectly from the workspace. The Copyjob just does not seem to find it while running. My aim is to use Fabric Translytical Task flows to update data on Fabric SQL based on the inital load. Is this a known issue? Appreciate any help on it. I have a SQL DB inside a fabric workspace and I am setting it up for CI/CD using GitHub. But any sync made via the repository fail when syncing to the workspace. Here are the steps I do: The SQL DB was created within the fabric workspace and the SQL DB works fine on fabric service SQL DB is commited to my repo via the worksapce source control pane I make a simple change to a SQL query via git in the repository I update the workspace items based on the repository changes I get this error: SQL Project build failed. The model version 'SqlDbFabric' is not supported. The model version 'SqlDbFabric' is not supported. And even if I don't make any changes to the repo I get the error: The SQL DB was created within the fabric workspace and the SQL DB works fine on fabric service SQL DB is commited to my repo via the worksapce source control pane I create a new blank workspace in fabric I sync the workspace with the same branch from my repo that I commited in step 2, basically getting the items from the repo to the workspace I get this error: SQL Project build failed. The model version 'SqlDbFabric' is not supported. The model version 'SqlDbFabric' is not supported. Is fabric not cabaple of rebuilding the SQL DB from its own created files? Because the documentation says otherwise. Here is the .sqlproj code autogenerated by fabric: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Project DefaultTargets="Build"> <Sdk Name="Microsoft.Build.Sql" Version="2.1.0" /> <PropertyGroup> <Name>ACTIVITIES_SQL_DB</Name> <ProjectGuid>{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}</ProjectGuid> <DSP>Microsoft.Data.Tools.Schema.Sql.SqlDbFabricDatabaseSchemaProvider</DSP> <ModelCollation>1033, CI</ModelCollation> </PropertyGroup> <ItemGroup> <PackageReference Include="Microsoft.SqlServer.Dacpacs.DbFabric"> <SuppressMissingDependenciesErrors>False</SuppressMissingDependenciesErrors> <DatabaseVariableLiteralValue>master</DatabaseVariableLiteralValue> <Version>170.0.0</Version> </PackageReference> </ItemGroup> <Target Name="BeforeBuild"> <Delete Files="$(BaseIntermediateOutputPath)\project.assets.json" /> </Target> </Project>1.1KViews1like3CommentsSQL DB Error with geometry::STGeomFromText
Has anyone else run into an error using geometric functions in SQL Database in Fabric? Are thses functions not yet available in Fabric SQL DB? The STGeomFromText (geometry Data Type) article indicates the function should be available (the Applies to tag includes SQL Database in Microsoft Fabric). The following statement (from the linked article) runs in Fabric Warehouse without error, but when run in SQL DB in Fabric, it gives the error below. Statement: select geometry::STGeomFromText('LINESTRING (100 100, 20 180, 180 180)', 0) Error: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Types, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. I am replicating data from an Oracle 19c database to a mirrored database in Fabric. All Oracle tables are successfully replicating, but I'm getting the same error message on two tables. Neither table has a NVARCHAR(MAX) column (as I've heard this causes issues). Here's the schema of one of the failing Oracle tables and the actual error message is below. lineitemamt number lineitemusage float adddttm date moddttm date paidstat nvarchar2(1) pendflag nvarchar2(1) pendtype nvarchar2(1) lineitemkey number billkey number lineitemunits float addby nvarchar2(30) modby nvarchar2(30) penaltypayorder number principalpayorder number printtext nvarchar2(300) discountexpiredate date commentskey number lineitemsetupkey number penaltydate date penalizedflag nvarchar2(1) accountservicekey number printorder number legacylineitemno number actualamt number budgetedamountflag nvarchar2(1) variantflag nvarchar2(1) Table (subtask 0 thread 1) is suspended. The Fabric Mirrored database indicate an error, errorStatus: 'Replicating', errorCode: '', errorMessage: 'We encountered an error while parsing data file being used, please fix the file and try again. The error is: Exception reading the data file. Exception: No data rows available. Appreciate any suggestions, tips. Thanks2.2KViews1like5CommentsFabric SQL Database GA
Hi all, Any idea when Fabric SQL Database will switch to GA? I saw an earlier post saying probably Q3 and definitely by the end of the year, but not seen anything since. Calendar Q3 has gone and I can't see a confirmed data in the roadmap. Hi. I hope someone can give some useful suggestions. My workplace have a suite of SSAS tabular models. They used to be created in compatibility level 1103. We then used a free piece of software with them called Partition Manager (which was a free download from Codeplex, to show it's age!) to dynamically generate partitions at the start of a new month. Our cubes were partitioned by each month of the year. Partition Manager could also be controlled to process only a few partitions, by maintaining tables in it's own SQL Server database. The tabular models have now been rewritten in compatibility level 1200, to allow us to process in parallel and generally give us a better build time performance. However, as we don't know of an equivalent to Partition Manager, i.e. a method to automatically generate partitions, we have created them as rolling window models, to match the time span of our data warehouse. If we were to change our tabular models again to have incremental time partitions (i.e. not a rolling window) that are generated automatically, what methods exist for us to do this for compatibility level 1200 onwards? Are there scripts or software products to do this? Or anything else?Solved4.2KViews1like6Comments
