How to add coloured shade area segments in a Line chart
Hi, I have created a Bell Curve line chart and plotted a point (read score point) on the line (see picture below). What i would like to add is 2 segments, 1 segment for the left side of the red point and 1 segment on the right side and colour them. In order to achieve this i have added a dax calculated column (with the text low and high) in the table. Is this possible in a line graph ? ps: I tried a "line and stacked column chart", see second picture. Now when i changed the entry from the Column y-axis to Line Y-axis i get this, see last picture. Adding an overlay with a hyperlink to a line chart
I work on a data engineering team, and we have a PowerBI report that includes a line chart showing how long it takes for data to be processed. Spikes in this graph are typically related to an incident (configured in our incident management platform) that captures outages and disruptions to our service. I would like to display those incidents over this line chart (shown as red dots on the graph below). Each dot would represent an incident or group of incidents that fired at a particular time stamp. When I hover over or click on a red dot, I would like to see a tooltip or dialogue panel with more information about the incident(s) including incident number and a hyperlink to the particular incident on our incident management platform. Assuming the underlying data model is working and we are able to correlate incidents pulled from our incident management platform with the data from the line chart, what kind of visuals could I use to create these dynamic overlaid lables with hyperlinks? If there are no existing visuals that would allow this, has anyone tried any plug-ins or custom solutions that they could share? I would appreciate any help 🙂 cc: jayendrans
Projecting from known starting and ending values
Dear Power BI Community, I have the table below where I need to show for each site the emissions decreasing until it hit 0 by the "Net Zero Goal" column year within the duration indicated in the far right column. If the start year is 2023, all site except for E will hit 0 before its target year. I created the table below in excel and that worked but I'd like to be able to create this within PBI as the starting/current year could change depending on when the client wants to start their emissions savings. I created the table below for each site and appended them into one table and that worked. Like I previous stated, doing this in excel doesn't allow for me to adjust the starting year. Time Emissions Site ID 2023 835.75 A 2028 238.7857 A 2025.5 537.2679 A 2030 0 A I have tried to convert everything to dates using the following formalas datedif (excel), datediff (PBI) edate However, I ran into the following issues: Could not format a working table that PBI can make into a line chart I could not create a numeric range parameter for the projected start date One thing to note is that the project start date should align with the current emissions column from the first column. Such that if site A were to start in 2027, they would have 3 years to complete their emissions savings to reach the 2030 year target. The idea is to have several line charts that depict the emissions decreases for each site and being able to adjust the start year like below. Thanks in advance. I want to color the line of a chart up to a defined date. The rest of the line should be dashed. For this I have already created two lines and superimposed them to format them differently. However, the end of the first line is disturbing, because a horizontal line is created. Is it possible to hide the tail? or to format the same line to defined data sections?
