Hi guys, I'm getting the following (not very descriptive) error while refreshing my semantic model in fabric PBI: Data source error: We found an unexpected character in the JSON input.. The exception was raised by the IDataReader interface. Please review the error message and provider documentation for further information and corrective action. Table: Web Site Data. I am in need of a Table custom visual that dynamically expands JSON content. For example for an input like this { "Column 1": "Value 1", "Column 2": "Value 2", ... } The table will expand this to two columns and display the values underneath This has to be dynamic, and allowing all the normal table features: sorting, conditional highlighting, ...101KViews0likes0CommentsPower BI Report Server Branding Issue
Server Version: 1.20.8926.40580 (May 2024) Issue: A while back we investigated changing the branding on the server using the Multicolored example brand zip file seen here. After creating the new branding package and successfully deploying it we noticed that one element refused to change with the new branding colours ("Primary" and "PrimaryAlt") which shows as #117865 (dark green) instead of #e71f85 (pink) Reverting the server back to default branding doesn't alter it either, as if the link between the two is broken. Once reverted back you can see the green remains. All the elements in the json file were accounted for to make sure this colour wasn't in there. Here's the JSON: "name":"Multicolored example brand", "version":"1.0", "interface":{ "primary":"#e71f85", "primaryAlt":"#ffffff", "primaryAlt2":"#0080c9", "primaryAlt3":"#009ad4", "primaryAlt4":"#ffffff", "primaryContrast":"#000000", "secondary":"#0c499c", "secondaryAlt":"#0c499c", "secondaryAlt2":"#0080c9", "secondaryAlt3":"#ffffff", "secondaryContrast":"#ffffff", "neutralPrimary":"#F2F9FE", "neutralPrimaryAlt":"#ffffff", "neutralPrimaryAlt2":"#b1d7ee", "neutralPrimaryAlt3":"#0c499c", "neutralPrimaryContrast":"#0c499c", "neutralSecondary":"#F2F9FE", "neutralSecondaryAlt":"#ffffff", "neutralSecondaryAlt2":"#ffffff", "neutralSecondaryAlt3":"#e71f85", "neutralSecondaryContrast":"#000000", "neutralTertiary":"#ffffff", "neutralTertiaryAlt":"#ffffff", "neutralTertiaryAlt2":"#ffffff", "neutralTertiaryAlt3":"#ffffff", "neutralTertiaryContrast":"#000000", "danger":"#e60000", "success":"#3fae29", "warning":"#ffd000", "info":"#0c499c", "dangerContrast":"#ffffff", "successContrast":"#ffffff", "warningContrast":"#ffffff", "infoContrast":"#ffffff", "kpiGood":"#3fae29", "kpiBad":"#e60000", "kpiNeutral":"#ffd000", "kpiNone":"#0c499c", "kpiGoodContrast":"#ffffff", "kpiBadContrast":"#ffffff", "kpiNeutralContrast":"#ffffff", "kpiNoneContrast":"#ffffff", "itemTypeIconColor":"#ffffff", "reportIconBackground":"#009ad4", "excelIconBackground":"#009ad4", "folderIconBackground":"#009ad4", "datasetIconBackground":"#009ad4", "otherIconBackground":"#0c499c" } } Another poster had a similar issue which was fixed when they upgraded their version of report server to the January 2023 Release. Since our version is newer (May 2024) that hasn't resolved it. Any ideas where to go next? Thanks in advance Tim SOLUTION: Added this additional code to the colors.json file. Deneb noob here & working with a user who wants to see if tick marks can be removed where there is no label in deneb? We also want to keep the max amount of gridlines possible. I'm running into an issue when trying to edit the JSON file for my powerBI report. I have a solid file, however, I am unable to edit the formatting for text boxes in the file. I found a solution from 2021. However, it seems to no longer work with the 8/2023 version of PowerBI. Would anyone have a code snippet they are willing to share? Hi all After updating our Power BI Server On Premise we have the problem, that the report names are not displayed in the color we defined in our branding json-file. After the update the color is now #0C695A: What we have to define in the branding json-file to overwrite this color #0C695A? Hi There, with the may 2021 release of PBIRS we also got the new shapes feature with desktop which was released to the regular desktop in april 2021 (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/de-de/blog/power-bi-april-2021-feature-summary/#post-14480-_Toc68689097). Unfortunately after converting existing shapes my settings in my custom json don't work properly anymore. Is there any updated documentation to this? This (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-report-themes#report-theme-json-file-format) does not help at all... I am working on a JSON file for a custom theme for Power BI. For some of the visuals I have set that data labels should be on. However when I import the theme, I can't manually change this setting in the desktop version. So if I have set the data labels to be on in the JSON file, I can't turn them off manually in desktop version of Power BI. The reverse also happens. If I have turned data labels off in the JSON file, they can't be turned in manually in Power BI. It's only an issue with Data labels. Fx I can turn Total labels and Series labels on/off as I want no matter the settings in the JSON file. The only work-around I found is to go into Data Labels > Apply settings to > and then choose each series and turn off data labels for the series I want. However this is not feasible in settings, where there are many series. I would like to be able to choose whether the Data Labels are on or off by default, but I still need to be able to change it in Power BI for some specific cases of data. Is this a general thing, or is it something specific in my JSON file? I provided an example of the 'labels' section of the JSON file below: Don't know if I should provide the entire JSON file here, as it is quite long? Hi All, After much research and reading a lot of posts I was able to use a base code and adapt it to my PBi needs, the current code merges all pages on a JSON but I am unable to refresh the database automatically due to PBi detecting the authoring query being already dynamic. I read that using [Relative Path = ] fixes this problem, however every time that I try it I get different type of errors. Would anyone be so kind as to fix my current code or help me understand how should I face this problem?
