I'm trying to do a first test of mirroring one of our databases that is private within our Azure Network. I have created a VNet Data Gateway, assigned the Workspace Identity the necessary permissions in Azure SQL, but when trying to create a connection, either from the Mirroring Wizard or Manage Connections and Gateways, it doesn't appear to be possible to createa combination of the VNet Data Gateway and Workspace Identity. I couldn't see this listed as a known issue or limitation anywhere, but I'm assuming that it currently is? I'm going to try out Service Principal authentication as that appears to be the next least-bad option, but that will break when the secret expires. We don't generally allow SQL Logins to our servers.Solved4.5KViews0likes3CommentsBest practice to name a mirrored db respect to the environment
Hi, I usually name a workspace including a suffix (or prefix) to refer the environment (e.g. ws_xxx_dev, ws_xxx_test, ws_xxx_prod), while for the related objects (lakehouse, warehouse, pipeline, dataflow gen2, semantic model, and so on) I don't specify a such suffix or prefix. Now, which is the best practice to name a mirrored db (f.e. from a SQL Server source)? Can I avoid to specify the environment reference? Hi, I need to maintain a Fabric data platform solution having a Mirrored SQL database in the wrong workspace, and so I need to move it to another ws. I'd like to accomplish a such task avoiding to operate in SQL Server simply using the existing SQL Server connection in Fabric. Any helps to me, please? Hi, I was at the announcement on the FabCon 2024 in Stockholm, that mirroring will be available also for PostgreSQL. However later on I learned that the preview is only for the PostgreSQL Flexible database in Azure. So I was wondering, if anyone knows, if this would also be available for databases outside of Azure, eg. on Amazon? Or is and will the whole mirroring thing be only available for databases located on Azure? Thanks.Solved8.7KViews0likes1CommentMirroring in Microsoft Fabric
Hi, I am some ambiguity in understanding Fabric Mirroring. I know that it enables users to effortlessly replicate external data warehouses or databases. But I want to understand does it copy the physical data to Fabric and if no then how does it work? Hoping for a reply.Solved40KViews1like10Comments
