gateways issue
16 TopicsISSUE with connections, gateways and scheduling automatic refresh
Dear, I am making multiple reports in power BI using an Excel in the cloud. However at one point instead of having one connection, it made a connection to the cloud and some sort of gateway, even though I referred to the same excel in the same location. The issue with this is that it caused the option to schedule a refresh to dissappear. What happened and how can I solve it so it works as before. Secondly, I will have to transfer these power BI files and connections to another account, since I referred to the excel using the link to the cloud and the other account has access to the same cloud, will this go smoothly? Thank you! Kind Regards. Screenshots below!545Views0likes1CommentReceived error payload from gateway service with ID 82135

Hello, We have one single report that has data imported from two different servers each one from different VPNs. We tried to create a gateway cluster and added gateways from the two VMs of each VPN. However when we are selecting both gateway for respective datasource we are facing connectivity issues from secondary gateway instance. Please let us know if there is any other workaround1.1KViews0likes2CommentsGateway Trouble (Using an Alias Server Name)
Evening For the past year in and half my organization has been creating Power BI reports connected to our Microsoft Great Plains server. Over the weekend, IT upgraded to a new Great Plains server. Prior to this upgrade, IT created an alias Great Plains server. The idea being that in the future we would not have to reconfigure our BI reports to a new server source. Testing the BI reports on Desktop worked as expected. With the launch of the new upgraded Great Plains server today, all of my BI reports connected to to the new alias Gateway no longer refresh upon request. However they all work on my desktop. IT is confirming the new alias Gateway (gateway has a status of 'running' w/ green checkmark) and I do not see any errors myself, yet all the timed refreshes are now failing. Some of the messages we are receiving incude: - Cancellation occurred when sending or receiving a request - The last refresh attempt failed because of an internal service error. This is usually a transient issue. If you try again later and still see this message, contact support. Perhaps the alias Gateway is not the way to go? Maybe I need to recommend my IT department to create a Gateway for the new server name? Any thoughts or ideas that I can try or pass along to my IT department would be appreciated. Hello, we have a recurrent trespassing problem of one report. There's scheduled refresh every day and stops sometimes with the following error: (translated with google from german) "Apparently an error occurred during the scheduled update because the local gateway was restarted during the update. For the next scheduled update, ensure that the data gateway is running continuously." We investigated the logs but cannot see any issues. When we start the refresh manually , there is no error. The Gateway Version number is 3000.27.30 (February 2020) Does someone has a tip / solution? Thank you in advance405Views0likes0CommentsGateway connection to Sharepoint Survey error
Hi All, I have a gateway setup to an "on premise" sharepoint site which has a survey list within. I have a dashboard that is connected successfully in PBI Desktop to the Survey and refreshes data fine. My issue is that the gateway connection is showing the error that it cant find various columns in the list. See photo attached. I cant seem to figure this out. My central IT help Desk sets up all our gateways so i cant get much info there.1.3KViews0likes2Comments
