gateway configuration
12 TopicsFailed to create gateway.
Hello! All my data refresh failed today so I checked the gateway, it says it is configured correctly but the gateway is unreachable due to local network connectivity problems. So I followed some of the advice from the forum and unistalled the gateway and intalled the newest version. But then I can't retrieve it using the recovery key. I tried to create a new gateway, but it is having the same error: Failed to create gateway. Please try again. Hi All, I have a report with source as SQL. I have deployed that report in the service. To schedule the refresh for that report, it is required to install and configure Gateway. So, i tried to install the Personal Gateway first, it got installed, but unable to configure it with my account. Similalry i have tried Standard gateway also, (uninstalled the personal and installed the Standard) even then getting the same issue. Below is the error screenshot of it. The above mentioned is everything performed in one of our Servers. The same process i have done in my base machine, and it is working fine. Only issue is in the Server. Please help or provide any solution for this. Thanks, Sudharshan.6KViews0likes1CommentData gateway - Should I Install and where to install?
Good day everyone! A rookie question. My objective is to distribute completed power BI report to users through web interface. I have subscribed with Power BI Pro version. I used Power BI desktop to make the report and the deliverable is just one .pbix file that connecting to SQL Server 2012 for data source. I build the same report with both way of querying SQL server (Import and direct query). And I uploaded both reports to my workspace. Both report got error when I tried to open it in my workspace: For the one database connection is using "Import", it can display the dashboard like barchart things. But if I click on the dataset "Refresh" button it said "Something went wrong - Scheduled refresh has been disabled. Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details." "Data source errorScheduled refresh is disabled because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the refresh again, go to this dataset's settings page and enter credentials for all data sources. Then reactivate scheduled refresh. Cluster URIWABI-NORTH-EUROPE-D-PRIMARY-redirect.analysis.windows.net Activity ID0cb0327e-9259-4980-bcc2-68dc7a1daca7 Request IDac1a381a-5d11-939c-f94f-37e5722ffae2 Time2023-01-05 08:37:13Z" For the one database connection is using "Direct Query", it cannot display the dashboard (as no data inside). When I first click on the report it already shows a red ribbon at the top of the screen "There is no gateway to access the data source [myDBName]." as well as "Data source unreachable - There is no gateway to access the data source en02live . Verify the gateway connection configuration on the dataset settings page and make sure all required data sources are added to the selected data gateway." The current infra setup here is : - SQL Server 2012 (the data source and I use internal IP address to access to it) - My laptop with SSMS (I use this to query and create a temp table. And this is where the Power BI dashboard load data from) - My laptop with PowerBIDesktop installed (I use this to develop the report) - My workspace (that is my login under my 365 account which subscribed as Pro user) So, questions are: It seems my next step I need a "data gateway" in place. However I have no idea where should I put that gateway in? Shall I install the on premise gateway in SQL server? The gateway setup: it seems allows me to login using my 365 account. But it does not have setup to connect to my SQL server by putting in credential and ip/host name of my data source (i.e., SQL Server). How that data gateway works? If I need to distribute the report to users, do I need to get extra Pro license for them? We have at most 5 to 6 users only that need to access Power BI report. Thanks a million for all advices or sharing of link that help me to make this come true.Solved4.1KViews0likes1CommentOn-Premises data gateway with conditional access
Hi there! I have the following problem: I install the Power BI On-Premises data gateway on a server and log in with my account. Then the login window for ADFS appears with the title EnterpriseGatewayConfigurator.exe. After entering the login data, the following message appears: Error Code: 53003 App name: Power BI Gateway App-ID: ea0616ba-638b-4df5-95b9-636659ae5121 Device Status: Unregistered The server is definitely hybrid joined though. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do here? I strongly suspect that the EXE is not transmitting the Device Status at all or not transmitting it correctly. Thanks in advance! Hello, I am getting an error message on my programmed report refresh. I am refreshing by gateway (updated to the last version). Using SQL Server. Strange thing is that it has been working perfectly for months, and the last days it stopped working suddenly, and its giving me this message everytime: Mensaje de error subyacente: El archivo o directorio está dañado o es ilegible. Greetings, I am using Power BI Report Builder to generate a report using Oracle DB as the connection type. It runs fine on my local machine, but when published to the server I get the displayed error when trying to access it. The "Additional steps are required to view this report" link brings me this this page Power BI gateway and Report Builder support for ODBC data sources (preview) - Power BI | Microsoft Docs , which outlines how to configure and use ODBC with paginated reports. We have explored and configured this option, but it does not perform as well as the Oracle DB connection type when connected to our Oracle database. So far we have confirmed the 64 bit ODAC 12.2 is installed on the host server, following the instrutions here [Oracle Connection Type (SSRS & Power BI Report Server) - SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) | Microsoft Docs ]to register the ODP.NET Managed Client to both the GAC and machine.config. We have Power BI reports that use the existing Oracle connection just fine on the server, so not sure what next to try in resolving this. Any help will be apreciated, and should more details be required I will provide.2.4KViews0likes4CommentsUnable to view my own report online - LOSING MY MIND
