Hi, I'm using PBI (Report Server) and am connecting to our corporate SSAS cube. I can easily enough use a Line Chart to trend a cube measure over time using our "Calendar" dimension, which has a Hierarchy defined as: Fiscal Year and Month. The chart looks fine, however the "Forecasting" function is unavailable on the "Analytics" pane. Is this due to using the above Hierarchy instead of an actual "Date" field? Is there a method to get the "Forecasting" feature working against SSAS cubes which have Date Dimensions/Hierarchies defined? The what-if function is amazing and I wish I knew about it sooner. Now, however, I am looking to multiply my filtered value by the what-if parameter. I know I will need a new measure, but I'm unsure the DAX formula. I.e. Total Amount/New Measure = (chosen rate/filter) * ((Number of Days/Weeks/Months * Number of Units Per Day/Week/Month) * Number of People Receiving Service) I'm looking for the first part of the DAX code (the chosen rate/filtered info). Is this even possible? Or do I have to separate all my rates into individual measures? I was hoping I could do this filtering so that people can choose the rate. This is then going to be added to average revenue so a provider can determine how a specific service billed can affect the overall monthly income. I.e. Avg income is 10,000, but if they add a career discovery service (5 units or whatever), the graph will show how much the increase is. Thanks again!Solved1.1KViews0likes2CommentsPowerBI Forecasting Report
Good Afternoon! I am trying to make a forecasting page(s) for a provider. I can easily do forecasting in a line chart. I'm more curious if it is possible make something like this that I made in Excel: I linked this to our forecasting tool. We have individuals who can estimate how many people are going to receive a specific service. By entering in the first 4 columns and the second to last, it will give an additional total. This total is then added to a larger projection tool: This tool lets users manipulate the data to see how it would impact finances if they sold X amount of units of a service. They also have the ability to see what would happen if they increased services by a specific percent. Is this even possible to do in PowerBI? I know PBI is more of a visualization tool, but I figured I would check before giving them an answer. Thanks, Shannon1.8KViews0likes3CommentsShow/Hide Forecast based on Year slicer
I have a radio button slicer that has three (3) Years in it, the current year and two prior years. When a user selects the radio button for the current year, I want the uset to see the line graph with the forecast. When the user selects a prior year I want the user to see no forecast b/c the prior years don't need a forecast. Is there a way to turn the forcast off? I have tried to use bookmarks and put one line visual on top of the other then use DAX or button over the Year slicer, but the slicer requires a simple click, but the button requires a CTRL+click .589Views0likes1CommentSales Forecast by Year, Month and Week
I'm good morning with everyone I'm new to this community and I'll be then left with something, I have the sales of 2019 and what goes back to 2020, I can get a sales forecast by Year, Month and Week. Considerations: -I have a Table Detailed Calendar -In Month and Week show sales of the month selected by default the actual one. -In the case of the Year you must be the Forecast and Accumulated up to the month selected by default the actual one.393Views0likes0Comments
