Hi everyone, I'm excited about the potential of the new "Reporting - Dynamics 365 Finance business performance planning" visual (basically a Microsoft-created P&L) featured in the February 2024 update. I was able to build a Profit & Loss report using standard matrix visuals and DAX, so this visual could be a big help. You can find it on AppSource here: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-US/product/power-bi-visuals/mscrm.d365_business_performance_planning_reporting?tab=Overview However, when I try to use the visual, I'm encountering some inconsistencies: Documentation Gaps: The Microsoft support page outlines features that don't seem to exist within the visual itself. App Store Sample Limitations: The sample file works partially, but I can't fully understand how it's configured. Has anyone else worked with this visual? Could you please provide guidance on: Additional Documentation: Are there more detailed resources beyond the official support page? Best Practices: What are effective ways to use this visual and work around potential bugs? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! In the previous posts (part 1 and part 2),, we set up a matrix visual which shows our total actuals, Prior Year Actuals and Variance to Prior Year for a given year/month (based on the slicer selection). In this section we want to take this a step further and choose to show either Monthly figures, or alternatively Quarter to Date or Year to Date for the selected year and month. Congratulations! You’ve made it to the final step of completing the Income Statement page. We already have a pivot table style matrix with conditional formatting, Dynamic card visuals showing our key numbers (with a comparison to prior year) and a waterfall chart showing breakdowns for the month/quarter/year to date by Organisational unit. In this section we will build different styles of the Income Statement. In the previous steps we built a pivot table-style Income Statement Matrix, created dynamic calculations for MTD/QTD/YTD and applied conditional formatting on the variance columns based on a measure. One of the key aspects of storytelling with data, however, is to make it easy for the reader to see performance at a glance and understand what is driving that performance.
