Hello d_gosbell, Currently I have this Live Excel Document - it refreshes the data when you click on the Refresh button, it directly takes the data from the company SQL database. And the the data gets refreshed in this Excel Doc. After connecting this Excel Document through Get Data - Excel in Power BI. Now, when I click on the Refresh button in the Excel doc and it refreshes the data; I click on Refresh Preview in Power BI too, but it did not refresh the data in PBI? How do you connect a live Excel sheet like that in Power BI so that the data refreshes when the excel refreshed too? Also, how does this refreshing work in Power BI Desktop for report server? Thanks in advance!Solved2.9KViews0likes1CommentPBI Report Server Oct 2020 , Excel dataconnection refresh
Hello the community, I would like to share with you an issue we're facing since the upgrade we've made with PowerBI reportServer. So we upgraded to Oct 2020 and since then we have this issue of refreshing data especially with data sources like Excel... We have a report that uses a shared excel file as data source, the credentials are correct, and the refresh schedule in this case can be executed but it shows always this message. Could anyone help please ? ** file is accesible ** credentias are correct, user can access the file Thank you1.1KViews0likes3CommentsPowerBI report cloud- find the source path of excel data set on onedrive
We have a PowerBI report which was developed from the cloud(Not used Desktop version). The dataset for this report is pointing to onedrive of an ex-employee who developed this report. The report refresh is not happening as expected from the day his account got deactivated. Recently we have reactivated his account and noticed there are no files in his one drive account. Then we uploaded the required files into his one drive account and refreshed the dataset as well as the report. But we are not seeing any difference in the report data. The dataset refresh was not giving any error when manually refreshed the dataset. Same has happened even after we deleted the files from one drive and do a manual refresh Now we have doubt about the location of the file in one drive. The reason is when we create a new dataset from the newly uploaded excel, then the manual refresh worked as expected when the file available on one drive. But when we delete the file and do a refresh got below error "We are unable to locate the file on OneDrive for Business. Please check that the file exists in this location. Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details." Is there any option to find out the source path of a report dataset from PowerBI cloud? Also, can we change the source path of an existing dataset to a new excel path directly from the cloud(Without using the desktop) One more observation is even after refreshing the dataset without any issue the last refresh time still shows an older date.822Views0likes0Comments
