desktop report server
7 TopicsUnable to load the model as Viewer
Hi, Would like to raise a question regards accessing reports as Viewer (which means no access to the dataset and no rights to modify anything or even share reports with your own network). Did something have been changed in PowerBI? Since I am sharing my report now, as I used to do: share/ Manage permissions / Direct access / Putting user email (deselecting sharing and building content using data) and hitting send, they receive an email with an invitation and a link that they can press and access the report, but now whenever I do that I am getting the error below: Any suggestions, since I do not want to add external users as Members or so (FYI, viewers can still view older reports, it is an issue with creating new ones). Thanks Regards, Matas1.2KViews0likes3CommentsPBI RS October 2020
Hi to everybody, For professional reasons, I must use Power BI Report Server Desktop in the October 2020 version. I had to change my computer and I have lost the .exe for this version. I am unable to find it in any repository. Could someone tell me where you can find this version or the May 2020 version so that I can further develop my work. Thanks in advance. I am trying to import custom visuals (.pbiviz files) into my reports in Power BI Desktop for Report Server (May 2021) on a network that does not have internet access. Some visuals seem to load after a while (a minute or two) and some seem to keep spinning forever. When I try and do the same thing on machines that are connected to the internet, it always seems to load the custom visuals in an instant. Is there anything that could be going when trying to load custom visuals on a closed network (via opening the visual from a .pbiviz file on the local machine)? If so, is there something that can be done about it? ThanksSolved3.5KViews0likes8CommentsPower BI import data power bi service
I have created reports on power bi desktop in import mode, I have published the report on the Power BI server. On Power BI server I have updated the data source details and scheduled the data refresh on specific time each day, just wanted to check will the report keep getting updated on its own with the new data with all these settings ? Or should I use Direct query in power bi desktop itself ? Does import mode matterSolved898Views0likes1CommentUnable to save or upload Power BI reports after upgrading to Jan 2021
We have PBIRS Version: 1.10.7737.32652 (Build 15.0.1105.230), Released: March 12, 2021 and the related Power BI Desktop version for report server (Version: 2.88.2361.0 32-bit (January 2021)). When attempting to upload a Power BI report that was developed in a previous version of Desktop for Report Server I get an error when saving “An error occurred while attempting to save the report to Power BI Report Server” (screen shot included). I see the following error in the RSPortal log: 2021-03-31 13:14:13.7213|ERROR|24|library|Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ItemNotFoundException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ItemNotFoundException: The item '/Folder/R - PBIRpt' cannot be found.;| RequestID = s_c890301b-308e-440a-b1d8-6b8c83e3bbb1 2021-03-31 13:14:16.2369|ERROR|87|The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.| RequestID = s_c890301b-308e-440a-b1d8-6b8c83e3bbb1 I plan to open a MS Premier ticket for this issue and will keep the post updated.4.7KViews0likes8CommentsCouldn't find May 2020 version of PBIRS to download on the official website?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55329 Seems like there aren't previous versions of PBIRS on the website to download. The problem is PBI Report Server and PBI Desktop have to be the same version. For example, I tried to create reports on Desktop (Oct 2020 version) and published to Report Server (May 2020 version), the reports couldn't be opened on the Report Server. Because my company deployed the May 2020 version for the client. Would be more helpful if the website can provide all the previous PBI Desktop versions for download. Not just the current version. Thank you.Solved2.7KViews0likes1Comment
