Power BI Adoption Strategy - June 2022
This June, we're excited to announce that we have a remote guest speaker, DeNisha Malone from Microsoft, talking to us about Power BI adoption strategies. This session will present attendees with a set of roles, responsibilities, and behaviors that have been developed after working with customers in real-world Power BI deployments. DeNisha will share Microsoft’s Adoption Framework and how it can benefit the growth of application use in an organization. The meeting will start at 5.30pm with refreshments. About the Speaker: DeNisha Malone, formerly known as “the Power BI Queen”, is an Intelligence Platform Program Manager at Microsoft. She is known for her knowledge in data-storytelling and Power BI administration strategies. DeNisha’s work has improved user acceptance and the adoption of Microsoft’s Power BI in enterprises all over the world. She enjoys sharing to user groups and helping small businesses migrate from manual Excel reporting to optimized Power BI tenants. Pricing, Licensing, and System Requirements for On-Premise Power BI Report Server Deplyment

Fabirc Deployment Pipeline fails
The pipeline can only deployed by the owner. IF anybody else tries (They are admin in all workspaces) get the following error. This deployment will overwrite some items in the destination workspace. You must be the owner of any items that will be overwritten. Please check the technical details for more information. If you contact support, please provide these details. From Trouble Shooting Who can deploy content between stages? Content can be deployed to an empty stage or to a stage that contains content. The content must reside on a Fabric capacity. Deploying to an empty stage - Any licensed Fabric user who's a member or admin in the source workspace. Deploying to a stage with content - Any licensed Fabric user who's a member or admin of both workspaces in the source and target deployment stages. Overwriting a semantic model - Deployment overwrites each semantic model that is included in the target stage, even if the semantic model wasn't changed. Any user who's a member or admin of both workspaces, but the tenant admin can restrict this to target semantic model owners only. (What Setting is this?)
Deploy Power BI reports programatically with different SSAS connections per tenant
Hello, we develop and manage a software as a service platform using PowerBI embedded with Analysis Services in Microsoft Azure. Our CI/CD pipeline process provides an SQL database, Analysis Service Database, Web Application, PowerBi Embedded Workspace and multiple services per customer. Everything works fine for these steps. But the report deployment is still a manual process: - Open PowerBI Desktop - Open the report in question - Connect to the QA SSAS server and select the database for the customer for this specific deployment - Publish the report and select the PowerBI embedded workspace for that specific customer - Check visually that the report is working via Power BI Portal We would like to deploy the reports using PowerShell, but we could not find a way to change the connection string. We found multiple ways to change connection strings if no SSAS is involved, but we need SSAS. Any ideas how to solve this? Kind regards, MichaelPowerbI Azure deployment
Good morning y'all. We have an Azure environment and we are trying to build out a deployment process for the first time, to multiple groups within our organization, with users both in house and external. I'm trying to locate sources, sites, etc. that I can search/reach out and use to help define and create it. Simply put, we want to be able to save our PBIT version in GIT and then have devops deploy it out to the various workspaces we'll be setting up, and automate it as much as possible. So far much of what I've seen is deploying the PBIX file, but I'd love to be able to deploy a Template and within the process, connect to my data sources, include any passwords and have it automatically converted to a PBIX during the deployment process. Any information and recommendations would be appreciated. It's been a challenge to find an excellent reference to deploy a PBIT file to a workspace and interally add the datasource, database, passwords, etc.
