Hi, I want to create a visual that shows the variance between the previous year's data and the current year's data in a line chart, similar to the attached image. In the visual, the black line represents the current year's data points for each month. The areas filled with green or red color represent the variance between the current year's data and the previous year's data. Green areas indicate months where the current year's data is higher than the previous year's data, while red areas indicate months where the current year's data is lower. How can I represent this in a stock visual in Power BI? I think we can do this using error bands or error bars, but I am not sure how to implement it. Currently, I am using a custom visual from Zebra BI, which I want to replace. Thank you. Visual example: The visual is a timeline comparison of all KPIs, showing the variance between the current year's data and the previous year's data. Here’s a detailed explanation: Line Chart Representation: The black line represents the current year's (CY) data points for each month. Each data point along the line corresponds to a specific month's value, marked with a numeric label (e.g., 6.8M for January 2021, 670.04K for February 2021). Variance Representation: The areas filled with green or red color represent the variance between the current year's data and the previous year's (PY) data. Green areas indicate months where the current year's data is higher than the previous year's data. Red areas indicate months where the current year's data is lower than the previous year's data. Axis and Labels: The x-axis shows the timeline from January 2021 to January 2022. Data Points and Variance: Each month has a labeled data point showing the current year's KPI value. The variance is visually represented by the shaded areas between the line and the baseline, with the color indicating the direction of the variance (positive or negative). Overall, this visual effectively shows both the current year's performance and how it compares to the previous year, highlighting significant increases or decreases with the colored areas.
