Hi!! Im wrtiting today in order to know if Incremental refresh works with Dataverse? The issue is because ive been trying to apply incremental refresh to some .xlsx files inside a sgarepoint folder without success. So before giving to my customers the option of taking the data into an SQL Database, I was wondering if they can do it through connecting the sharepoint to the dataverse and then apply the Incremental Refresh to the Dataverse as a source. Haven´t found any info about it and dont really know how to dataverse works so if you can help me it will be a big help. How do you get the global option set data and opition set data in datavese when using the dataverse connection in Report Builder for PowerBI? The only solution I can come up with so far is to create a dataset for every single option set and then do a lookup in an expression whenever any data contains the the optionset value to get the localized label. Please remeber this is about Report Builder, not power apps or PowerBI. If you don't know anyting about dataverse or Report Builder please don't answer.500Views0likes0CommentsPower Automate Flow Button to a Power BI report from another environment
From Power BI, I am trying to use Flow to update a table from Environment B within Dataverse. My Default environment is Environment A. Is it possible to change environments in Power BI to create a flow within Environment B or is it possible to use an "Update a Row" and select the environment? The current "Update a Row" in Dataverse option only shows tables from environment A (see image).3.6KViews0likes3CommentsDataverse Scheduled Refresh in Report Server
Hi, is scheduled refreshes supported for Dataverse as a data source in Power BI Report Server? I'm not finding any information on Dataverse with RS. Being that my org is starting to use Dataverse now, I'm trying to understand the capabilities of it with PBI Report Server. Thanks!Solved1.3KViews0likes1CommentUnable to connect to Synapse Lake DB from Power BI report in PBIRS
This seems like it may be a limitation in the current version of Power BI Report Server (PBIRS), though I'm hoping we're just doing something wrong. If it is a limitation, I would love to see if we could get this on the product roadmap (product team!). In short, we have a Dataverse environment for which we have enabled Synapse Link, which creates a Lake DB database on synapse. In this style of database, SQL user authentication is not supported (the DB is exposed as a readonly replica, and thus we cannot "create user" on the DB). As a consequence, the only supported way to connect to the Synapse database is using organization/microsoft accounts. Using the PBIRS version of Power BI desktop, we are able to author such reports, work with datasources, etc. just fine. However, when it comes time to deploy to PBIRS, the only authentication methods that are available when configuring the data source are Windows Auth (i.e., on-prem windows/active directory) and Basic Auth (SQL users). Long story short, even though you could create a SQL user and grant the sysadmin role, which would allow the user to access the lakedb database, that user does not have permission to access the underlying resources in the Azure Storage Acccount (the data lake), and thus you cannot run queries or interact with the data. It seems that either the PBRIS platform needs to add support in data source configuration for data model data sources for Microsoft/Organizational autentication (see the screenshot below), or the Synapse team needs to figure out how to support SQL authentication on Lake DBs. Has anyone encountered and gotten past this problem? Are we maybe missing something? Separately, any chance the product team is interested in picking this up and supporting MS auth? thanks!!Solved1.6KViews0likes2CommentsHow To Access The Dynamics 365 Calendar Data In Power Bi
Hey! I am using the power bi for building the field service report and connected the power bi with field service CRM by DataVerse (Web API), I am able to access all the data except the calendar data over there. Basically I need the working hours, worked hours, idle hours etc . . . So I need your support, is there any way to access the calendar data over the power bi. Any help would be appreciable. Hi all, I want to use the Microsoft Power BI template for Project for the Web to follow up on Project Management tasks. A lot of handy functionality out of the box, but there are some frustrations as well - the biggest one being that all tasks are listed equally in the report regardless of parent/sub-level, sorted either alphabetically, by start date, or something else. I would rather like users to view the task hierarchy, so that tasks that belong together are shown side by side. In Project for the Web, sub tasks are neatly indented, and it is possible to show Disposition numbers (picture below) for relationships between parent tasks and sub tasks (up to 10 levels). My issue is that the Disposition number-data does not seem to be available via the same data import from Dataverse (I have checked many tables, but I cannot say I have the full overview - please let me know if I have missed something). So, how can this be recreated with the help from parent-child relationships and indexation? The following data represents my inputs from Project for the Web, my efforts to extract the relationships, as well as my desired outcome. In reality, I have 8 different projects with approximately 20-150 tasks and subtasks to follow up in each of them. From Project for the Web (not Project Online) via Dataverse Calculations Desired outcome Index Project ID Task ID Parent Task ID Outline level Task Hierarchy Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Disposition nr 1 A T1 1 T1 T1 A.1 2 A T2 T1 2 T1|T2 T1 T2 A.1.1 3 A T3 T1 2 T1|T3 T1 T3 A.1.2 4 A T4 T3 3 T1|T3|T4 T1 T3 T4 A.1.2.1 5 A T5 T4 4 T1|T3|T4|T5 T1 T3 T4 T5 A.1.2.1.1 6 A T6 T4 4 T1|T3|T4|T6 T1 T3 T4 T6 A.1.2.1.2 7 A T7 T4 4 T1|T3|T4|T7 T1 T3 T4 T7 A.1.2.1.3 8 A T8 1 T8 T8 A.2 9 A T9 T8 2 T8|T9 T8 T9 A.2.1 1 B T10 1 T10 T10 B.1 2 B T11 T10 2 T10|T11 T10 T11 B.1.1 3 B T12 1 T12 T12 B.2 My issue now is to get the numbers for each level right, meaning that all rows indexed 1-7 are A.1.x, rows indexed 3-7 are A.1.2.x, etc. From there, I would combine these to a Disposition number to sort by in report tables. Ideally I would like the Disposition number in the report to be equal to the Disposition number in Project for the Web, but I am not sure if that is possible. I would really appreciate guidance on how to create the Disposition numbers allowing me to sort such that related tasks can be shown next to each other in the report.Solved1.3KViews0likes2Comments
