Automate list of Power BI dataset refreshes
Hello - I'm trying to see if there's a way to automatically pull the list of the last "x" dataset refreshes, without checking it for each dataset through the PBI Dataset settings, like in the screenshot below. I'm wondering if: 1. I can automatically pull this list somehow in a PBI report 2. I can pull this list for more than the last 20 refreshes (which seems to be the only setting) I did a research online and it looks like the options are setting up a Power Automate flow (for dataflows only, not for datasets) or using REST API. Is there any other way that I can do this? Many thanks!
Auto refresh fails the credentials are invalid
Hi all, We have a Power BI Dashboard that reads Cherwell data as a data source. We have it scheduled for auto refresh during the night. The auto fresh frequently fails with ' (500): Internal Server Error' and we also see "Your data source can't be refreshed because the credentials are invalid. Please update your credentials and try again." message. When we re-authenticate Cherwell credentials, and run auto refresh, it runs fine. Also the auto refresh runs successfully, several times, but eventully, it fails with above mentioned errors. Any ideas why the authentication with Cherwell expires? Thanks, Seyed
Local Server Dataset Refresh Not Scheduled
Good Morning, We are running powerbi local report server in combination with SSAS, SQL and Oracle. In the background, we have a complicated date pipeline that uses Airflow for orchastration. The data pipeline breaks on a regular bases (not all in our control) so we only want to update the dataset after all stages have completed successfully. Can we trigger a dataset refresh from either Powershell ReportingServicesTools or the rest API? The reports used import instead of liveconnect or direct query. Any ideas would be greatly apprecieated. Thank you,
Dataset Refresh Automation Using Power Automate
Hello, I'm currently using Power Automate to kick off dataset refreshes automatically based on keywords used in a group chat. With that said, I'm curious about a few things: Is there any way to kick off refreshes of data sets without using PowerAutomate in a specific sequence that I choose based on importance in the organization? If the above is not possible. Then, is there a way for Power Automate to just add the new datasets to the Flow so that someone doesn't have to manage the flow and constantly add the datasets (we're a big org that creates new data sets daily). The end goal is this: Refresh all data sets in a programmatic way instead of having to go to the PBI Server and refresh when a report breaks. In this day of technology, I'm sure someone out there is doing this the right, efficient way.
Power BI Dataset On Demand Refresh not starting
This happens rarely, but sometimes when you refresh a Power BI Dataset in the app.powerbi.com, Refresh does not start (atleast in terms of Visually seeing the Refresh Icon Progress). but after few hours, it shows you It got refresh. Even in Setting - > Schedule Refresh initially It does not show your refresh in progress. For example - If I press refresh button twice, Since it was not showing me Refresh in Progress when I clicked on it first, after an hour or two, It shows 2 Refresh has been Completed. I cannot reproduce this bug everytime, but this happend to me 2-3 times alreadyReport datasets not reflecting the refresh on Power BI Report Server Cluster
Hi everyone, We have a PBIRS cluster with 2 servers. Currently we have some schedules doing refreshes on some report datasets on a daily basis. We have noticed that even when the refresh was marked as complete the data seems not to be refreshed at all. Any ideas on what might be the issue? Additionality we also have occasions where the refresh gets stuck in "refreshing..." and does not finish. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
