Power BI & Visio Case Study: Visualizing Data for a Theme Park
The most powerful data visualizations include context. Charts and Graphs on a BI dashboard are great, but adding context can be much more impactful. For example, the red bars on a hospital’s environmental monitoring dashboard will alert you of a problem, but if you can click on the red bars and see a floor plan with the exact location, your response can be better. Similarly, when a dashboard includes a network diagram that shows real-time server status, and a click shows you the data required to initiate the fix, you’re two steps ahead. How do we achieve this level of insight? We can add context to our Power BI reports with floor plans, network diagrams, process maps, or org charts created in Visio. This session includes live demos of Visio/Power BI integration from a real-world project. The customer’s goal was to provide frontline workers using Teams with easy access to Power BI visualizations that bring Visio diagrams to life. While the customer in this case study happens to run theme parks, the examples include Power BI tips and techniques that are applicable in many business scenarios. Claudio compartirá cómo crear un template gráfico multinivel comparativo (Mes/Trimestre/Año) que permite recalcular automáticamente los gráficos con solo cambiar la medida principal o "medida raíz", logrando una vista gráfica dinámica y adaptable, una versión avanzada del concepto Self-BI. Contenido técnico Claudio nos enseñará cómo estructurar el template utilizando una Medida Raíz que se inserta en múltiples medidas gráficas, gestionadas por un Grupo de Cálculo condicionado. Esta estructura permite generar visualizaciones precisas y automatizadas.
