When I rePublish a Power BI report to our on-premise reporting service, the data source needs to be reset. We have Reporting Service (May 2022) and setting up deployment using Powershell. My test report is already deployed to the service, the data source has been setup and a subscription created to run daily. Created a powershell script, using the Powershell function PublishPBIXFile.ps1 (changed the script slightly to not overwrite the data source) , to deploy all SSRS and PowerBI reports to the appropriate server. When I republish the PBI report , I select 'manage','data sources' and all looks fine until I select 'test connection' where it fails. Also noticed that the subscription has disapeared! When I re-enter the password for the data source, connection tests sucessfully and the subscription re-appears ! Even tried it with the overwrite option , but the same issue occursSolved1.2KViews0likes3CommentsUnable to proceed from data source credential when editing the credential.
Hi everyone, I want to setup a schedule refresh in PowerBI service. The data source of my report is coming from MySQL. When I try to edit the credential under data source, a pop out window as shown in the screenshot above shown to me, asking me to fill in Username and Password. Once I filled in all the detail (the username and password is correct), I click "sign in". The problem is the time taken for signing in seems like never ending. I've been waiting for more than 1hour already but it is still the same. May I know what is the potential reason for this? Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!Solved633Views0likes1CommentData source connection on Power BI Report Server failed
Hello, I have developed a Power Bi report using Power BI desktop and my project connects successfully to a SQL Server database using Windows credential and to a Postgres database using a standard credential. However, when I deploy my project on a Power BI Report Server ( Jan 22 version ), I am unable to connect to my data sources. For the SQL Server connection, i encounter the following message : Microsoft SQL: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) For the Postgres database connection, the following message popped up : Please install Npgsql version 4.0.10.0 or earlier. Do you have any solution or investigative steps that I can take to resolve the issue? When we upgraded to Sept 2021 version we noticed that the Data Source's Save button is disabled unless we modify all credentials. The developers that have many data sources are complaining that they need to update them all. I told them that in the previous versions it allowed you to update one and save it but it seemed to break the other credentials. So this "new feature" was a way to force them to update them all before saving. Am I correct? If so, they would still like to know why that is and if there are plans to "fix" this in future releases?Solved2.6KViews0likes5CommentsPower BI server Sharepoint Credentials don't recognize
Hello guys, I need your help, I made a Power BI report using data from a Sharepoint Folder (the report combine all the Excel files in the Folder). I set the credentials of my Organization and it works perfectly in Power BI desktop. The problem comes when I published the report in the server. I tried to set the scheduled refresh, unfortunately it shows me this message: I have been looking for help in the forums and in the page of support from Windows (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-admin-troubleshooting-power-bi-personal-gateway). Since the Sharepoint is in cloud I do not need to set a Gateway connection. When I tried to updated the credentials this message appears me: Do you have any idea why the server is not recognizing my credentials and why when I tried to updated them an error occurs?940Views0likes1Commentodata Credentials - Couldn't connect - Log on Failed

Hi, I have a published Power BI Report that has a SQL Connect and 3 CSV's and and 1 XLSX. All CSV and XLSX files are auto generated from an internal application and placed on the file share nightly.
