data security

Hi everyone, I’m currently working with Power BI Report Server and our customer expecting Object Level Security (OLS) features to enforce data security at the column level. I understand OLS can be implemented in Power BI Service (with Tabular Model tool & SSAS), but I’m unsure how or if this can be implemented on Power BI Report Server, i can not find a clear documentation about this. So basically, my questions are: Does Power BI Report Server support OLS for column-level restrictions? If yes, what is the recommended approach or pre-requisites to configure this? Our current version: Power BI Report Server © 2024 Microsoft. All rights reserved Version1.19.8779.19175(January 2024) I’d appreciate it if anyone could share their insights, documentation, or examples. Thank you guys a lot!1.6KViews0likes3CommentsEmbed For Customer - All Pages Filter
I have two clients viewing functionally the same report in an embed for your customers scenario. I was asked if each client could be made to see only their own data exclusively. I can easily make this work with an "all pages" filter, which to my knowledge can't be edited or removed from the embedded view (unlike a page filter which can be). However I'm concerned that this approach is not secure. Does Powerbi Provide any guarantee that "All pages" filters cannot be edited or modified from an embedded view? Is the "Hide Filters" button sufficent for this?Solved1.1KViews0likes2CommentsWorkspace Name (Exporting file containg Power BI usage)
Hello, I am currently sitting with a lot of raw data received from our IT department in order to make simple statistics of the Power BI usage by our users. In the regard I came across one column, which contains the workspace name that the report has been viewed in. However, I am very unsure what this actually means. The column contains following text: WorkSpaceName"":""PersonalWorkspace-Employee" and other fields containing the same script but with my department instead of Employee. I expect, as my department are responsible for creating, developing and publishing these specific reports, they should all be opened through our workspacename. How can it be that some employees have viewed it through their "own". Is there a way to "download" the reports made by others down to your own workspace and share it with others (e.g., external contacts) or?571Views0likes0CommentsData Security in Report server for huge number of users
Hi All, We have dashboards created for different countries. For each country we have User hierarchy. Each Area managers have multiple supervisors and each supervisor manages different Sales Rep. I want to create a data security for these users based on their designation. Sales Rep should see only that store data where he has conducted the survey. Supervisor should see all those stores that are visited by the sales Reps he is managing and Area manager should see all the stores that his supervisor is managing. We have huge number of Sales Reps and hence creating roles(RLS) for each Sales Rep is not an option. Is there any other way we can do this? Thanks in Advance, Bhavya445Views0likes0Comments
