Unable to Refresh Data in My Report Hello everyone, I’ve been working on a dashboard for a while (I’m a beginner) and I can’t refresh the data incrementally. To start, here is a description of my report: SQL database IMPORT mode RangeStart and RangeEnd parameters set to 01/01/2024 and 31/12/2024 (loading disabled) Incremental refresh defined on the tables to be updated (last 12 months for archiving and 3 days for refresh) Gateways configured in the semantic model on Power BI online Automatic refresh scheduled at 1 AM every day in the semantic model on Power BI online The problem is that I inserted a date slicer that I synchronized across all pages so that when I filter at the beginning, the filter remains. However, it doesn’t refresh. So I copied my report and made some modifications. When I enable incremental refresh in Power BI Desktop, I no longer see the parameters in Power BI online; it tells me that no parameters are defined. Can someone please help me?578Views1like1CommentSudden loss of data integrity.
Hello, Dark days, wondering if anyone will read this and feel they have met this challange as after two solid days I have run out of ideas. We have experienced a change in the data that is being returned to our reports from querys using a IBM DB2 database connector to an on premisis server. Previously, this large number of reports, returned a full set of data. As of 6 days ago the reports have reverted to giving a small sample of the data. Each time i refresh a query i recieve a slightly different subset of data but only every 1/100th of the total that is in the source table. We have tried to trace the problem but all efforts have failed. Why would multiple reports that all functioned well for many months suddenly change in this way. There have been no major changed to architecture in the same time period. The issue arose on the 1st of June, a microsoft change? The data seems to be throttled randomly, both when published to the server and when refreshed on desktop, what could do this, licence limits. Any thoughts hugely appreciates. My query is simple. I am new to PBI. I want to create a report based on excel file which is currently stored locally and on my One drive. This excel file would be modified later. So my report should also auto refresh accordingly. I have published the report on the server. Now in my workspace, I can see seemantic model. When I click on the 'refresh now' button next to the semantic model name, it shows me a red colored notification icon. The text details of it is like this- Scheduled refresh has been disabled. Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details. Data source errorScheduled refresh is disabled because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the refresh again, go to this dataset's settings page and enter credentials for all data sources. Then reactivate scheduled refresh. An error occurred while processing the data in the dataset. Since it seems like you changed the name of datasets to Semantic Models could we change the Refresh Failed messages to reflect this change? Makes it easier for me to help newer programmers when terminology is consistent. Thanks.Solved875Views0likes1CommentScheduled Refesh with no errors but data are not updated

Hello - I'm trying to see if there's a way to automatically pull the list of the last "x" dataset refreshes, without checking it for each dataset through the PBI Dataset settings, like in the screenshot below. I'm wondering if: 1. I can automatically pull this list somehow in a PBI report 2. I can pull this list for more than the last 20 refreshes (which seems to be the only setting) I did a research online and it looks like the options are setting up a Power Automate flow (for dataflows only, not for datasets) or using REST API. Is there any other way that I can do this? Many thanks!418Views0likes1CommentPower Query Refreshing
Hey everyone! I'm new to the Power BI Community and I'm running into an unexpected issue. I'm using Power BI Report Server and connected to and importing a table from Oracle DB. The problem is, everytime I edit a column or make any tranformation within the data(e.g Replace values), it refreshes the data from the data source, reading the complete database each time and reapplying the filters. As you can imagine, with millions of rows this is causing immense wastage of time and is a serious set back for us. Is this supposed to happen? Or could I be doing something wrong?346Views0likes0CommentsHow Data Refresh programmatically?
Is there another way to do a data refresh for a PowerBI report (via PowerShell or Rest API, how to access the Rest API, do we enable this?) I have a query to check what powerBI report has failed, but in order to do the refresh, i either go to the report and do the refresh, or run the job that corresponds to the Schedule GUID. Is there a way to do a Data Refresh just by knowing the Catalog Item? Without doing a Schedule? Thanks a lot!Solved3.3KViews0likes5Commentsnot getting updated dataset when downloading data from powerbi reporting server
