Dear Team, I am facing an issue with the incremental refresh, when I am opting for incremental refresh starting from one month before the refresh date, the data of the first day of the month is twice the actual value. Example : When I opt for this setting, the data of first of March is twice the actual value, no matter the how many refresh has been done. And all the data afterwards that particular date is correct though. Below is the screenshot of the parameter settings and the m-query. Please do support with a possible solution for the issue.Solved1.8KViews0likes5CommentsCannot take over Gen2 dataflow
When attempting to open a Gen2 dataflow owned by someone else, I get the below message: If I try to access the settings for that dataflow: I am an admin on the workspace this dataflow is in, and the issue does not happen with Gen1 dataflows. Inconsistent messaging and imo this is a bug.Solved1.7KViews0likes2CommentsSemantic model does not load all data from Dataflow Gen 1
Hi, community. We are facing a behaviour/error that we can not explain regarding semantic model, in import mode, connected to a Dataflow Gen 1 in a workspace running on a Fabric Capacity. The scenario we are experiance: - Checking the Dataflow, all data we need is there. The data is far less that 1GB. (aprox 500MB) - Connecting Power BI Desktop to the Dataflow, randow rows are missing from the dataset that we know exisits in the Dataflow. Some of them from 2025. - Limiting the data that exists in the Dataflow (change filter on year to ingest from 2020 to 2024) and refresh the Dataflow. Now all data from 2024 and up until today are loaded into the Semantic model. Dataset now less that 300MB. Are there anything in how semantic models load data from a Dataflow Gen 1 that could explain this behaviour when the dataset is clearly inside the limitations of the Semantic model, and the Dataflow for that matter? Do you need anymore info or have question, please just ask! Regards Jon Terje TjønnSolved2.7KViews1like10CommentsPassing (sliced) data to R and then retrieving output object back to Powerbi
I have an application where I have a large dataset in POwerBI and I need to select subsets via slicers (easy) and then pass that subset to R (also easy). Then, for example, I want to run a regression and return a dataframe of coefficients and standard errors back to PowerBI for display not as a visual but in data for presentation in cards/tables, etc. It is easy to subset the data, easy to pass the subset to R, easy to Run (say lm) on that subset and easy to generate a rectangular table of beta estimates an SE (via tidyr::broom), but how do I get the broom-generated output object back into powerBI in real time? I do not want a visual from R, I want data.999Views0likes2CommentsDirect Lake Mode error: "Class: 'ParquetException' Status: 'Unexpected end of stream'"
Hello, I have created a star schema using the TPCH10 benchmark dataset in two separate Power BI datasets: one uses import mode and one uses direct lake mode. The model is below. Fact_orders has ~60M records and Fact_orders[l_extendedprice] is a decimal column. Two separate thin reports have been created in PBI desktop, one connecting to each model in PBI service. When Fact_orders[l_extendedprice] is summed via a card visual in a report based on import mode dataset, the visual renders successfully. When the same visual is created in a report based on the the direct lake dataset, the visual fails to render with the following message: "Unexpected parquet exception occurred. Class: 'ParquetException' Status: 'Unexpected end of stream'" The same error appears in other scenarios when using the direct lake mode dataset. For example, if a card visual used to count the rows in the fact_orders table, the visual successfully renders the correct value (~60M). However, if a filter is added to the report using dim_customer[c_mktsegment], the visual fails to render with the same error. Below is a screenshot of the error when the filter query is evaluated in TE3. Please let me know if you need additional information. Thanks!Solved5.3KViews6likes12CommentsCustom connector: refresh without clearing cache often leads to 'The key didn't match any rows'
We have created a Power BI custom connector that connects to our webservice. The connector works with a nested folder structure. The user selects one or more tables from one or more folders. Part of the connector's structure (folder and table names) is fixed, while other parts are dynamic (depend on the data the user has in their webservice). The problem which our users experience, is that they often have to clear the cache in Power BI Desktop for a refresh to work successfully. If they don't clear the cache, they get an error saying: 'The key didn't match any rows in the table'. To our best knowledge, this error means that Power BI cannot find the table with the given name and folder-path. However, this error also occurs if a user refreshes a (report created with a) table that has a fixed name and path, in which case this error seems to not apply. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix or workaround (other than clearing the cache each time before a refresh)? Is it indeed caused by the custom connector's structure being partly dynamic? Any help is greatly appreciated!486Views0likes0CommentsData error on eTMF Governance Dashboard
Hi team, Yesterday I was checking the timeliness rate of our study D933YC00001, and found that it was 69.6%, and there were 17 overdue documents. After exporting the VCV report according to the guide below, I found that these 17 docuements included country and site level, but in fact I only ticked those who have chosen study level, please help me to confirm if the system data is wrong, and can you correct it as soon as possible?383Views0likes0CommentsReordering non-table queries in a DataMart generates an invalid query.
I have a table which has two simialar steps. It calcualets the max of one column, then adds a row which is value of each row divided by the max. I then do the same with a second column. For example, my query looks a little like this: let Source = Table.FromRows(Json.Document(Binary.Decompress(Binary.FromText("i45WMlTSUTJXitWJVjICsiyUYmMB", BinaryEncoding.Base64), Compression.Deflate)), let _t = ((type nullable text) meta [Serialized.Text = true]) in type table [a = _t, b = _t]), #"Changed column type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(Source, {{"a", Int64.Type}, {"b", Int64.Type}}), MaxA = Record.Field(Table.Max(#"Changed column type", "a"), "a"), #"A percent" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(Table.AddColumn(#"Changed column type", "A percent", each [a] / MaxA), {{"A percent", type number}}), MaxB = Record.Field(Table.Max(#"A percent", "b"), "b"), #"B percent" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(Table.AddColumn(#"A percent", "B percent", each [b] / MaxB), {{"B percent", type number}}) in #"B percent" Which renders like this: I decided I woud like to group the calculations for an easier read, so I drag and drop MaxB to be above A percent, grouping the max calculations and percentage calculations: However, this generates broken M: let Source = Table.FromRows(Json.Document(Binary.Decompress(Binary.FromText("i45WMlTSUTJXitWJVjICsiyUYmMB", BinaryEncoding.Base64), Compression.Deflate)), let _t = ((type nullable text) meta [Serialized.Text = true]) in type table [a = _t, b = _t]), #"Changed column type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(Source, {{"a", Int64.Type}, {"b", Int64.Type}}), MaxA = Record.Field(Table.Max(#"Changed column type", "a"), "a"), MaxB = Record.Field(Table.Max(MaxA, "b"), "b"), #"A percent" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(Table.AddColumn(#"Changed column type", "A percent", each [a] / MaxB), {{"A percent", type number}}), #"B percent" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(Table.AddColumn(MaxA, "B percent", each [b] / #"A percent"), {{"B percent", type number}}) in #"B percent" Notice that the MaxB calculation now refers to the non-tabular data MaxA, and the B percent column is trying to add a column to the same non-tabular item.432Views0likes0CommentsDuplicate Value
Evething is okay until yesterday but I got an refresher error this morning. It said that FACT_ORDERS table contains a duplicate value, so I go to the database and write a simple query to check: there are no duplicate values showing. I found the solution in PBI Community (use Remove Duplicates in Power Query) but I really want to know what caused this issue. Does anyone know? Thanks!1.4KViews0likes5Comments
