Say i have 10 large models all built in SSAS (no other models) 1 model i decide to make has no refreshes on for a week. Say i have bookmarks in PBI that dictates what is ran (no one will do extra filtering or adhoc) Say I go through 10 book marks. Each takes 10 seconds to display results initially. When i go back through result page return immediately. Shouldn't we expect that for each user for each day the data would return immediately UNTIL there is new refresh? I am not seeing that as the case. I thought i would be all in cache. I assume something must happen that evicts it from cache What tools do we have to see why it isn't in cache? I guess what i am looking for is a tool that can show me what causes the eviction. There must be other processes from other models that are happening that are affecting this. Hi All, I am unsure if it is possible to do what I want to do however thought I would ask before re-engineering a large(ish) report. We pull data directly from D365 Online and surface this through various filtered tables and visuals to provide our leadership with data. Unfortunately, D365 online isn't supported for scheduled refresh therefore we are currently opening the report every day, refreshing the data and then saving it again. Anyone know if there is a way to refresh this cached data automatically from D365? My workaround failing this will be a scheduled data extract from D365 to SQL and then a scheduled refresh into PBI, however this is less than ideal as the D365 export isn't great 😞Solved1.2KViews0likes2CommentsBrowser Cache Problem
Hi, Recently, some users in my organization reported an error (report does not load data) when accessing the report via browse. The solution was to clear the cache. Someone with the same problem? If so, do you know the cause or the ultimate solution so users don't have to clear the cache? Error reported on 08/06/2021, using google chorme current version. Hello all, I have a question regarding the caching ability and its control on report server end. We have a situation wherein our customer has hosted different Power BI reports on Report server (using Premium licensing capability). They have a question regarding - When a user opens a PBI report on the server, the cache load times differ from user to user. How can we streamline or optimize the load times between different users who are working out from the same office / server? Second question - In how many hours, does a new cache refresh happens again for the same report? Any suggestions would be helpful. Hi Guys, We've update our PBI RS version from a very old Oct 2017 to the pretty new Jan2020 and our customers are suffering of an issue of invalid cache that make difficult for them to correctly load the existing Dashboards without hard refreshing their browser cache. Is there any solution server side (on the PBI RS) we can do to fix this issue for all our customers in order to avoid having to inform each one about this unpleasant clear of cache? I would like not to have to downgrade the version, but in case let me know the closed version that doesn't have this issue please.931Views0likes2CommentsWhere is data cached? (SQL Import Mode)
Hello - I am trying to understand where the cache for my datasets lives in the PowerBI service. I'll be refreshing on a schedule with an on premises data gateway, and need to know if the cache lives on the gateway pc, somewhere in the cloud, or elsewhere. Thanks in advance, JMSolved1.4KViews0likes1Comment
