There are some reports on the Power bi report server. These reports have different sizes. Each report is connected to the auto refresh and each report has its own refresh time. However, 3 of these reports give errors during auto refresh like Memory error and do not refresh, therefore old data appears in the visuals. . I want to give an example of a report. In this report, the dataset consists of SQL view and excel tables and measures. The view between the tables in the dataset has a large volume. All the columns in the view are necessary for the report. Most of the time, this view is refreshed. As it is known, power auto refresh deletes and rewrites all the data in the table in the dataset. This takes a lot of memory and causes a memory error during the refresh. How can you refresh only the data on sysdate-1 during the refresh? keep it as it is, don't refresh it. When I get such an error, I edit the report and manually refresh all the tables in it. After doing this, I save the report again. But it takes too much time and it no longer works.Solved816Views0likes1CommentDashboard has failed to refresh with auto refresh

Hi, I have a few paginated reports that my company would like to display them on the big screen and would like the paginated reports to be refreshed every 5 minutes. Question: 1. Does the Web Extension Power BI Auto Refresh works on paginated reports as well? Or does it only work on Dashboards only? 2. Is there any other way to refresh paginated reports? Or do I need to use Power Automate or create EXE file to refresh the paginated reports? Thanks in advance for your help!Solved1.1KViews1like1CommentDM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError (Not like other post)
So I have multiple reports that pull from 1 or 2 MySQL databases, Most pull from the same database in which I get this error. The "table" at the end of the error varies. And this error is not constint, some days out of the 6 reports I get 1 or 2 of the reports that get this error message, some days I dont get any, and about 10 mins before this post I got all 6 (same error message minus the table at the end). Now If I go to power bi > data sources > and manually click the refresh I never get any errors, this only occurs randomly during the auto refreshes. I made sure my On-Premises Data Gateway is up-to-date and refreshed/restarted it. The MySQL connections are good with encription not enabled and under Orginization not public. This has been happening off and on for about a month now. I would normaly think it would be something on my end, but if it was I wouldnt be able to refresh it without errors via the power bi site or on the desktop editor as well. So Im sure its a odd setting somewhere, anyone have any ideas?Solved15KViews5likes19CommentsError when setting up credentials for on prem report server
I have a report I have created in PBI Desktop from a SQL server database. I can connect to the server from PBI desktop and can enter the sql query details in the advanced box. I have published this report successfully to our on prem report server. I then went to set up an auto refresh for this report. When I typed in my credetials and tested, this is the error I got; Microsoft SQL: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) The server has been configured correctly for remote connection so that isn't the issue. I can open the report in PBI Desktop, refresh it and then save with no problems. Could this be a server configuration issue or potentially a firewall issue between our Report Server and the SQL Server? I don't have this issue with any of the other databases I use on different servers in our network.589Views0likes2CommentsAuto Refresh in Power BI Report Server
Hello Everyone, I have a dashboard where it is live connected to SQL DB, Directquery Mode. I have published this to On-Prem Report Server, The business user needs to have this dashboard refreshing every 1 minute on his screen without any interaction or refreshing from his side, how can I achieve that? Note that: * Automatic page refreshing is not working on the report server * Also I took a shot with the browser extension, but the security team is not approving since it is 3rd party tools.
