We’re switching things up this month by hosting our PUG meetup during lunch! Join members of Tallan’s Data Team for a presentation on ArcGIS Power BI Visual & Azure Maps and April's feature updates. We’ll kick the hour off by covering April’s latest and greatest Power BI feature updates and then head into the feature presentation. ArcGIS is an underutilized map feature in Power BI. Understanding how to tap into its full potential will greatly enhance your ability to plot data geographically leading to a whole new perspective. Using ArcGIS’s built-in map, plus its services feature, we’ll explore all the capabilities it has to offer. Additionally, there will be some insights into the new Azure Map (preview) for Power BI and the SDKs to enhance Azure Maps in the Web Services.ArcGIS Layers moving and no transparency for heat map
I am using an ArcGIS reference layer from my premium workspace and a data layer with Power BI data. I want the reference layer above the data layer, but every time I filter my data the reference layer moves below the data layer. Since it is a heat map, I can no longer see the reference layer. Additionally, there is no transparency option for a heatmap.
Unable to view ArcGIS visuals published to Power BI Report Server
We are using the May 2021 release of Power BI Report Server, and have an ArcGIS Enterprise instance on release 10.8.1 with appropriate user licensing to create ArcGIS visuals. We have turned on all relevant switches in Power BI Desktop to enable use of ArcGIS, and even turned it on in our Office 365 tenant (although it won't be used there because all of our reporting in in-house). The report creators can log into ArcGIS while adding visuals to their Power BI reports using their Enterprise accounts, and everything looks perfect in Desktop. However, when they publish their reports to our in-house PBIRS and then try to view the visuals they get the following message: We've tried digging through both Microsoft's and Esri's documentation to figure out why this isn't working, but have not been successful in locating an answer. What else are we missing?
