How to setup on-premise ADFS integrating with PowerBI report server?
Hi, my customer is deploying all service on-premise. Their company PC doesn't join-in Active directory. So, Customer wants to setup on-premise ADFS integrating with PowerBI report server to achieve SSO. Do you have any guidance or for such depoyment scenario?

we are trying to configure ADFS and MObile connectivity to our on prem PowerBI server i have followed guides Using OAuth to connect to Power BI Report Server and SSRS - Power BI | Microsoft Docs Use Web Application Proxy and Active Directory Federated Services - Power BI Report Server - Power BI | Microsoft Docs i am unable to complete sections regarding 'Constrained Delegation Configuration' we already have ADFS and WAP servers in use for our on prem sharepoint site the WAP server is a DMZ server and not on our domain, but in a workgroup can anyone please offer advice or assistance in getting, ADFS initially working, and then using the mobile app? thanks in advance
ADFS Integration with Powerbi report server issue to make external users access powerbi portal
Hello, We have powerbi report server installed in "x.local" domain and ADFS server installed in "y.local" and there is no trust between "x.local" and "y.local". We successfully published the powerbi portal through WAP server that installed in "x.local" and configured successfully with "y.local". please check this documentation https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/connect-adfs-wap-report-server When you open the powerbi portal now, it redirects to ADFS and log in with the external "y.local" user, it successfully gets the token but opens a blank page. Is this scenario supported? to integrate ADFS with Powerbi report server to make external users (external domain) access the powerbi portal? Please advise! Hi, Is it possible to configure on premise Power BI report server with ADFS server for two factor authentication and are there any documentation around it. Use case: Power BI portal will not be published but will available for only internal users and when access Portal users should be prompted for two-factor authentication using ADFS. Power BI version: APril 2020 ADFS: 2016 OS: Windows server 2016 data center edition.
PowerBI Report server integration with OPENID connect
Hi, I want to deply PowerBI Report server in our OnPrem environement and use it a de facto Reporting platform. We do not use Active Directory but we use SSO (OpenID Connect based SSO). Now I am wondering how do I deploy PowerBI Report server in our environment. This article from Microsoft: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/security/authentication-with-the-report-server?view=sql-server-2017 clearly states that SSO is not supported by PowerBI but states that "The report server hosting environment does not support ISAPI filters. If the SSO technology you are using is implemented as an ISAPI filter, consider using the ISA Server built-in support for RSASecueID or the RADIUS protocol. Otherwise, you can create an ISA Server ISAPI or an HTTPModule for RS, but it is recommended you use ISA Server directly." How do we use this option? Another point from the article states that : "Specify Custom only if you are deploying a custom authentication module that handles all authentication requests on the report server. You cannot use the Custom authentication type with the default Windows Authentication extension." Do we have custom security handler sample for this purpose? Another option I was thinking of to use ADFS but not sure if ADFS will work with Report server.? I am thinking Active Directory -->ADFS which federates to OpenID connect based Auth. Do we have any documentation regarding this? Regards Rajaniesh
PBIRS + ADFS (form) not working from PBI Desktop
Hi, part of my tests, my Power BI Report server edition will be behind a WAP server my users are authenticated using ADFS + form based authentication this is working fine when I access PBIRS using a browser. but if I try to edit a report from Power BI Desktop, I cant connect to my PBIRS. I have to save locally, go on the web site and upload my PBIX file is there a work around? this will be supported? or not at all? thanks.PBI Server + ADFS +OAuth able to login, but not able to open reports
Hi Guys, I`ve configured PBI Report Server with ADFS and WAP which gets data from another server with Analisys services. I have 2 publishing rules on WAP one for Web Browser and second one for OAuth. From Web Browser - i`m able to login and open reports which ulilizez cubes on Analysis services without additional authentication (so its integrated pass-through). From Mobile App - i`m able to login, but can not open same reports. Maybe someone experienced same issue ? thanks, Oleksiy
