Hi, I have a Power BI report server URL which has 4-5 sheets. Is it possible to access any of the sheets using a URL? I am trying to automate a process which involves going to the Power BI Report server URL and downloading that sheet manually and then uploading it into a system that can accept URL as an input.490Views0likes1CommentAllow external users access to Reports one Report Server
My firm uses PowerBI Report Server. I haven't seen any updates on this so I'm thinking no, but want to confirm: Are external users allowed to access reports on the Report Server without being on premisis (with RLS) Can we embed powerbi reports (via iframe) within our secured website that that clients can log in to (again with RLS maintained)? Thanks, Sheila13KViews0likes14CommentsPower BI Page "does not exist"

Hi! At first, I'd describe prerequisites: We manage user's access through Power BI App, published from premium workspace and RLS model, configured on the level of Dataset. Access on the level of Power BI App/Permissions and on the level of Dataset/Security is configured with AD security groups. On the level of Power BI Service configured: allow AD guest users to access Power BI. Users could be found in AD groups with type Guest. (added by Invitation) And we've faced with the problem of access for external users. If user goes by direct link for an Power BI App, provided by publisher, his logo is grey, but he has access and could operate with App and report. If he authenticates from scratch to https://app.powerbi.com/home , he don't see shared with him Power BI App and can't find it in list of available. But logo this time uploads the picture from MS 365. In both cases we see [email protected] mail under logo. And in both cases he goes through MS authentication flow. I've read in topic, that if they use direct link to the tenant, everything works perfectly. But today I've faced that it's not such stable. Could you please advice, what should I do, for being sure, that in case of configuration by AD security groups user would have an access? What else should be checked and configured? Thanks!Solved2.9KViews0likes1CommentAdding active directory group with asterisk character
Hi all, We are trying to add an active directory group to have permissions to a Power BI Report Server but encountering an issue. We've found that when an AD group contains an asterisk character the group cannot be added. Ie. *PCL - HR Business Partnering and Employee Relations (Team) won't work because of the '*' character.. Any ideas to help with this?2.5KViews0likes6CommentsReport Builder subscriptions - Failure writing file
Hello Everyone, In our company we are using Report Builder to create report that its subscrubied to others as an Excel file. We are having problem when trying to run the subscription. Here is the error: And here is the configuration: The user that created the subscription is the same as the one that will save the file in shared location. Its an admin user so it has access to the folder and of course it has access to write data in the folder. Shared location is on the localhost where the Report Server is installed. The user is also an Active DIrectory User not local server user. When trying to run the subscripition we can see that in the mentioned error PBRS does not mention any user in the quote sings. Do we need to set up some more priviliges for this user? If yes then where? Is there a place where we can see more logs about this error? I hope someone will help us with this problem 🙂 Greetings to you all.755Views0likes0CommentsBest way to control different levels of access to a dashboard
Hi All, I have built a report for a client that will have multiple users, each of these users will have access to differing levels of security and therefore should only be allowed to see the dashboard tabs that relate to their level of access. Is it possible to publish the same pbix file multiple times granting different access each time? If not, can I save multiple versions of the PBIX file and just publish them to the different workspaces like that? What is best practice here? Thanks so much.977Views0likes2CommentsGaining control of a report
Hello, There is a report within Report Server which was previously owned by one of my colleagues but now he is not working for us anymore. I want to gain control of that report but I cannot access the "Manage" section, I can only open it. I am also a full rights admin. Is there any possibility to gain control of it?
