Row Level Security works on Desktop but not on Server Portal
HI, I have recently configured our on-prem report server, created some reports and TRIED applying RLS on the same reports unsuccessfully. RLS does work when I try VIEW AS on the desktop app but when I deploy it on the portal and run the report, the values are just blank. Here is the premise: I have the following table to control access to certain data called, ACCESS CONTROL. User | Company | Store DOMAIN\user.name | MyCompany 1 | MyStore 1 DOMAIN\user.name2 | MyCompany 1 | MyStore 2 I have also setup a measure to check for the current user, User2 = USERNAME() And then I created Role on the desktop app called, PERMISSIONS. That is filtering on the ACCESS CONTROL table using the following [User] = [User2] Finally, I added two slicers, one to show Company and the other to show Store. If I try this setup on the desktop app using VIEW AS, i get my SLICERS filtered correctly. I uploaded the report on the portal and ran it only to be greeted with access errors on all visuals. I, then, added the user on the report with the same role as PERMISSIONS and when I ran the report again I can see all reports but the SLICERS are blank. So, in the end did I miss something which is why me slicer is not showing correctly. I would appreciate all input regarding this matter.Power BI Report Server - Customize role "Publisher"
Hi, I want to drop permission for role "Publisher" being able to create\edit\delete\manage schedule refresh properties for dashboards. For info such need appeared when publisher set 1min refresh frequency for some dashboards and this caused queue overflow. In User Role Properties of Report Server I see set of tasks that could be ticked, but it seems to be not enough detailed to do what I need. When I tried to untick "Manage resources" - disappeared the ability to publish dashboards When I tried to untick "Manage reports" - disappeared the ability to replace and delete dashboards Do somebody have any ideas how to resolve this need?
Power BI - App Access Issue
Hi, At our organization, we have recently stumbled on an issue where the users are prompted the following error when given access to the App. " Permission required You cannot see the content of this report because you do not have permission to the underlying dataset. Please contact the dataset owner to request access. " This is the first time we are facing an issue of this sort. We have a workspace meant for collaboration and another for viewing, which has an app published. We provide access to the app using the standard "update app" method, which we have used so far to administer access successfully. Not sure if it is a bug and when we can expect any resolution on this. Regards, P
How to manage data access with DAX
Hi! I need to manage access control over the data in my dashboard. There are multiple countries reporting data. One country in particular (SRO) has sensible data and therefore can only be accessible to members working there. I've created a table where organization members' emails are associated with each of their respective countries. Now, what DAX expression would allow me to specify that only members that login with an email associated to SRO should have access to SRO data? I hope this makes sense, Thanks!
