Is there a way to pass built-in Global fields such as Globals!RenderFormat.IsInteractive to the dataset query in Power BI paginated reports? Use case: Report Builder is connected to Power BI semantic model. The report has more than 1 million rows so, Power BI is running into memory error every time the report is opened. So, I want to show only to 1000 rows when viewed in web but load the entire data if exported as EXCEL or CSV. I have tried constructing dynamic query using the expression of the dataset query. However, that throws a runtime error "The 'CommandText' expression for the query 'ShippedReport' refers to the global variable RenderFormat, which is not valid for this type of report item expression."Solved1.7KViews0likes6CommentsPaginated report embedded for your customer, RLS and CUSTOMDATA()
Hello, I'm using Power BI Premium and additional web application with its own authentication. I have published Power BI report and I am using service principal to communicate Power BI service wit web application. I am passing a parameter from web app to PBI service to know, who is logged in and I am reading that information using CUSTOMDATA() for RLS purposes. It works perfectly well. However, I have published Paginated Report with very same set up and it turned out CUSTOMDATA() retreives null, USERPRINCIPALNAME() and USERNAME() both retreive my login as a report publisher for each logged in user and built in (native) Report Builder function UserID retreives the same string for each logged user as well (it may be my GUID). Question: How to retreive in Paginated Report who is logged in to web app? How to get the same information like CUSTOMDATA() in Power BI but in Report Builder? Hello Community, Is there an option to force specific format of date paremeter in paginated report in the service? I know that service uses browser locale, however I would like not to ask end-users to change their browsers locale 🙂 I went through some ideas that I found for SSRS but nothing works. In this example I would like to set "DD.MM.YYYY" format instead of "MM/DD/YYYY" Please help 🙂 Thanks1KViews0likes2CommentsPassing parameter in Paginated Report
Hello, I have created 5 paginated reports in Report Builder. All of them contain tables only and few multiselect parameters. In the first report you can select particular row and click it, report will pass all values from all parameters to the 2nd report. On the second report you can click and 3rd report opens and so on. I'm passing parameters values in URL however the limitation of that solution is that URL cannot be longer than 2000 characters and this is my issue. I would like to set it up like this: user can select all values in all parameters but when user clisks on particular row, report will grab only related to that row values and pass only those singe values into parameters to the next report instead of passing all parameters values. Is it possible? 🙂 Thanks447Views0likes0Comments
