I've developed a DatePicker visual for Power BI, but I'm facing an annoying issue that affects user experience. When users interact with the report, my visual keeps flickering between showing the selected date and showing "Select period" (the no-filter state). This rapid alternation between states happens most noticeably when users select a date or click the "Clear filters" button in Power BI. The root cause seems to be that my visual receives multiple contradictory updates from Power BI in quick succession. One update tells the visual that filters are applied, then immediately another update says no filters exist, then back again to filters being applied. This creates the flickering effect as my visual tries to respond to each update. I'd like to know if this behavior is normal in Power BI or if there's a recommended way to handle these contradictory updates. Is there a technique to make my visual display a consistent state? Also, is there a reliable way to detect when a user has clicked the "Clear filters" button? Any help or suggestions from those who have encountered similar issues would be greatly appreciated.Set up a data connection in Power BI for Sharepoint

Is there a way to show additional data in a table for one field IF the field has conditional formatting to display a YES or NO? In the screenshot below, the Go to Green plan would have either a Yes or No displayed. The Yes, when clicked on or hovered over would display data pertaining to that project. Is this possible through tooltips? Table with Yes/No When Yes is selected or hover over, it would display the detail for that project.Lost in the Jargon... How to Move Away from Personal Gateway?
Currently, I have multiple BI reports, workspaces, and an app running via personal gateway. It works great while I'm in the office, but without someone to babysit my computer, vacations and any longterm absences mean all scheduled refreshes stop. I need to move away from personal gateway so that the office doesn't skip a beat (or cease altogether) when I'm not at my computer. The answer is probably out there, but I quickly get lost in the technical jargon. Set-Up Info: Personal gateway, all data sources are Excel, PowerBI Pro account (ability to go to Premium, but not Enterprise) Goal: to set up a gateway that will allow for uninterrupted data refreshes without my constant involvement What kind of gateway do I need to set up? My IT manager has set up a Service Principal in Azure and has the IDs... but how do I finish setting up in PowerBI.... and is that even the correct path to take?Solved1.3KViews0likes4CommentsCoverting a Visual Table into a Data Table in the same PowerBI
Hi there, Is there a way to convert or duplicate a Table Visual to turn it into a Data Table within the same PowerBI? I can export the Table Visual as a csv file and then do a separate analysis from there, but is there any way to do this within PowerBI where the table that is created is automatically updated when the visual table is updated? I tried creating a new table to try and use the SUMMARIZE function but the Table Visual is not selectable (because it is not a data table). Essentially I'm wanting to do further analysis based on one of the columns within the Table Visual without having to export it.Solved1.4KViews0likes4Comments
