Setting Up TLS Between Power BI Report Server and PostgreSQL Using Npgsql
Hello everyone, I'm working on establishing a secure TLS connection between Power BI Report Server and a PostgreSQL database using Npgsql. I've installed Npgsql, but I'm uncertain if additional configurations are necessary to ensure a secure connection. Could anyone provide a step-by-step guide or share their experiences on setting up TLS certificates in this scenario? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

i am losing my brain cells with this power bi service crap, my data source is a postgresql database hosted on a server, in power bi desktop it connects perfect, when i check the connection in connections it says online, but when i try to refresh the semantic model i get this error: The cloud connection in settings is online:
Report Server Configuration manager - connect to PostgreSQL server and database
Hi Seems like a really simple task, but unfortunately, this is my first time setting up PowerBI RS. I am having issues making the database connection in the configuration manager to our PostgreSQL database. In the configuration manager in the "Database" section one can only go to "Change Database" button, after that a new prompt appears with "Create a new report server database", "Choose an existing report server database". Since I don't have any database present, I would go with the first one. --> Create a new report server database. After that a page appears (see below), when I try to input the PostgreSQL server IP there I get an error. I know I am doing something wrong, can somebody possibly provide some steps/actions to take to completly configure the database connection.
Local update of BI takes seconds, update on Report Server takes hours
I'm having a lot of problems when scheduling the updates of a BI I made, we are taking data from Postgres and the total size for the report is around ~50mb, when I update the BI from my computer (using Power BI Desktop (May 2023)) it can take around 30 seconds to update everything, however, it constantly timeout on the Report Server, taking way longer than an hour, also, sometimes it gives me problems about cyclic references which do not appear locally. Is there anyway to fix these issues? Having to manually update the BI kinda defeats the purpose of scheduling the update, specially when I cannot trust it will actually update.
