Re: End User of Embedded Report - Tips & Tricks
This is definitely helpful! It doesn't quite get us exactly what we need, since we don't want to confuse users who won't be in the Power BI site at all (only embedded), but it helped inspire us on what to cover in our own DIY videos!665Views0likes0CommentsEnd User of Embedded Report - Tips & Tricks
Does anyone know of any youtube videos or other resources for end users of an embedded report? These are not ideal for our end users, as they are NOT in the Power BI site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0onHJ6M0Co&t=1s https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/consumer/ One of the main things we're looking for is an overview of interacting with slicers (like as simple as ok you click here to open up the slicer, you can click any down arrow to see lower levels of the slicer's hierarchy, you can click the "eraser" button to clear the selections, how you can multi-select by holding down CTRL button, etc. etc.). We can make our own video of course, but wanted to see if anyone knows of existing content out there! Thank you!Solved909Views0likes5CommentsRe: Apply All Slicers Button - But allow slicers to update during selection
Thank you v-yaningy-msft! I think what I'm looking for is a workaround to that. I feel like there has to be some creative way to get around this. It would require not using the official "Apply All Slicers" functionality. But I'm not sure how to do it.1.3KViews0likes1CommentRe: Apply All Slicers Button - But allow slicers to update during selection
Hi rajendraongole1, I am not fully following. For one thing, I do need users to have ability to multi-select in the slicers. For the part about the apply filters button with a bookmark - I'm not following. I've made an example file here: https://send.vis.ee/download/8e8591405172b927/#QvVTLwa_FahVnc6zeNSWeQ Can you please show me what you mean?1.4KViews0likes0CommentsApply All Slicers Button - But allow slicers to update during selection
First of all, I don't want the end user using the filter pane at all. I want to ONLY use slicers. Let's say I have 3 slicers: Category, Subcategory, and Brand. For Category, let's say there are 10 values. For Subcategory, there are 100 values (about 10 in each Category). For Brand, there are about 500 values (and each Brand can have multiple Subcategories and Categories). I want to use the "Apply all slicers" button, so that all of my charts, tables, etc. aren't updating with every change of a slicer - to save on querying. Cool, awesome, great.... HOWEVER...When a user selects 1 Category, I NEED the Subcategory slicer to be updated to only show the Subcategories that fall in that Category. The same goes for the Brand slicer. Otherwise, what happens is they select a Category, then they go to the list of 100 subcategories and select a Subcategory. But it's highly likely they pick a Subcategory that doesn't actually fall in the Category they've selected. And then they click "Apply all" and no data populates of course, and they say "the report is broken". No...the report isn't broken, it's just that they selected a combo of Category/Subcategory/Brand that does not exist. Please please please please is there any way to have the Slicers update each other live, but only update the other visuals on the page with a click of a button?? -Mike1.5KViews0likes7Comments
