Hi Anonymous I have tried updates from Aug to Dec of 2022 and most recently Feb 2023. None of them work. When Refresh works as expected there is a pop-up window that provides status of the various stages during the Refresh process: 1) Evaluting...... 2) Waiting for other queries..... 3) Creating Connection to model..... 4) Loading Data..... 5) XXX Rows Loaded as the final step. It appears at least step 5 is not completing. I would need to test further to determine where in the process it stops. The following window does not appear indicating the refresh completed. It simply closes. No tables/queries are refreshed. Does this information help?Refresh does not complete with new Desktop updates
I have been forced to use the July 2022 version because all updates since then do not provide a completed Refresh. I am importing from Excel and Access. When I run Refresh it evaluates the queries, runs for a period of time and then the window simply closes. I am able to Refresh queries individually.Re: Cant refresh dataset since august update
I was not able to Refresh my data in the Desktop after installing the August update. Reverted back to July and Refresh was ok. Decided to wait until Septermber. Same problem exists again. With the August update and now the September update the Refresh dialog box simply closes after the Refresh process runs for it's normal time of 12-15 minutes and does not provide confirmation that the refresh was completed. Data is not updated. I am querying Excel and Access data. No error is reported. I am not experiencing a block from one of the queries. When I manually run the refresh on an individual query it refreshes as expected.Re: PBI add-on crashing Powerpoint in presentation mode
I experience a similar crashing or freezing problem. When I open the Powerpoint file and start the presentation, it will crash. It may present a slide or two before crashing I have the presentation set up to run in kiosk mode and 7 to 15 second slide transitions. If I click on each slide in the slide list prior to running the presentation, it does not crash when I start presentation mode. The presentation will loop continuously without a problem. The process of clicking on each slide appears to perform a refresh/loading process that solves the problem? If I close and open the file, the crashing will occur until I refresh/load each slide. I observed the same situation with two different files.
