Extreme High Capacity Usage by Subscription(s)
I am struggling to figure out which subscription(s) are using an astonishing amount of capacity and why. The subscriptions for a single report are using almost 50% more capacity than the next highest dataset in the Fabric Capacity Metrics app. I know it is subscriptions because the tooltip that pops out when hovering over the line shows it is subscription(s) and all tied to one user. We've already tried disabling CoPilot. The report in question has 4 dynamic subscriptions set up (for four different groups of employees) all scheduled at the same time. I didn't see anything about dynamic subscriptions being a capacity guzzler - would this be the reason for subscription(s) taking up so much capacity? Is it just a feature of being dynamic, or are there best practices for setting them up that can reduce this capacity usage?Re: Optimizing/Capacity Issues - Composite Models
The other thing that might be relevant is that the Salesforce tables are related to the table pulled from the existed dataset by a many to many relationship. I have been puzzling all day over why it's many to many and just finally figured it out and how to possibly fix it. I have a question about composite models in regards to optimization and capacity usage. Some of our data analysts have recently discovered that they can link to an existing dataset and then create a composite model by clicking the option to "create a local model" and add in some data from somewhere else (for example, some Salesforce tables or some Excel files). We haven't been having any issues with slowness, reports not loading, or refreshes failing for over a year, so I'm suspicious that the recent increase this practice might be a bad idea. Specifically, yesterday there was a sudden spike to 500% of our capacity that was all down to one specific such model (I was able to track it down both via the Capacity Metrics app and by talking to the person working on that dataset/report). In this case, the composite model is from our largest and most active dataset and several tables from Salesforce. What is your experience with such composite models? Is it likely that this is the reason for it causing such a spike, or is it more likely to be something else that is wrong with the dataset/report? There are no measures at all defined within the dataset that aren't native to the original dataset.Refresh Problems with Sharepoint
We are suddenly having intermittent problems with refreshing datasets that connect to Sharepoint, and nothing has changed in our systems, so I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this recently. It started about the beginning of June. For the most part, the datasets are accessing Excel files hosted in various folders in our Sharepoint site. Often the refresh works when retried manually or on the next scheduled refresh, and always works fine in Desktop. Here's what I'm seeing as errors: We couldn't parse OData response result.
