Using Project Preview, no data is being saved and connections to live Power Bi models is lost
We are testing out the new Project functionality and pairing it with Github for version control. Very happy with that aspect. When we open a data model though, it says all the tables are empty and it needs to be refreshed. When opening a report connected to live data model, a similar issue happens where it doesn't have the connection anymore. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a way to fix it?404Views0likes1CommentUsing XMLA endpoint on Embedded Power Bi
Hello everyone, I am trying to set up the XMLA endpoint for an embedded capacity but am running into issues. I have a workspace assigned, the XMLA is set to Read, but when i try to connect using DAX studio or tabulaur it just return 400 bad request. I am the admin of both the capacity and the workspace. What am i missing here?Solved5.2KViews0likes3CommentsIncremental Refresh: Backfill?
So I am looking into implementing incremental refresh for our data models. Our models are usually linear except when we add a new client, because we backfill their Sales data for the last couple years into our database. How would this work with incremental refresh? Would i need to turn it off and publish a version without the refresh to pull the older data in? Change the parameters so it pulls in a larger range? Also, any tips/warnings about incremental refresh would be appreciated.Solved2.2KViews0likes3CommentsNeeds some clarification on Premium "Perks"
"Ability to share Power BI content with anyone (even outside your organization) without purchasing a per-user license" What does this mean exactly? I was probably a little hopeful and thought it meant that if we had a premium user we didn't need pro licenses for the people that view our report, which isn't the case. I then figured it meant the actual share function, but when i shared a paginated report with my personal office account it said i needed a premium license to view it, so there must be some limitations to this statement that aren't clearly stated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Solved735Views0likes2CommentsSharepoint connection issues once published, but not locally
Our data model has a connection to a sharepoint workbook to allow our clients easy access to inputting manual data. Up until yesterday this was working fine, but now it says invalid credentials. This connection is anonymous and doesn't require a key or anything, and works just fine in the local environment still. This is the setup for the source = Excel.Workbook(Web.Contents(url), null, true). The url is actually the url that is used when you open the sharepoint file in app. Any advice on what might be going on is greatly appreciated.Solved538Views0likes2Comments
