Hi. Thanks for the reply. From your note above, item "1", we are doing that. It is a modern site page. As per item "2", we ARE NOT doing that and this is the weird thing: every corporate user with a free Power BI license (and that have access to that SPO page) can see the report in the SPO page. They shouldn't. In irder to confirm that things look ok in PBI, we ask the users to go to app.powerbi.com and tell us if they can see the report oir the workspace over ther. They can't. Still, they can see and interact with the report via SPO.Integration Power BI online and SharePoint online
Hi. Our organization has subscribed to Power BI Premium capacity. We have a few reports in the cloud already, everything works fine from all angles, including security and access control. We are basing access control on Azure AD groups and we are not using sharing of links. Now we have started to explore integration between PBI online and SharePoint online. We were able to embed a report in a SharePoint page, it just takes a few clicks. We were surprised though to learn that people who have access to that particular Sharepoint page actually get to see also the report, even though they dont belong to any of the AD groups that we gave access to for that report. In other words: when we ask some users to go to the PBI portal page and try to see the report, they can't even see the workspace. That's the desired behaviour. However, when they access the SharePoint page they see and interact with the report. It is like SharePoint security is overwritting PBI security. Is this the expected behaviour or are we missing something over here? Thanks for any help with this. Roque Daudt (additional information: these users have Free PBI accounts)Share report with AD Group
Hi. I have successfully shared a workspace with members of an AD group. They see all the reports in the workspace. Now, our workspaces will have many reports and we don't want to share them all with the same AD group. Members of AD group X must see only some of the reports in the workspace, members of the AD group Z will see only some of the reports and so on. Sharing the entire workspace won't work for us. Has enyone successfully shared individual reports with AD groups? I tried using the send link resource and it appeared to go through but the group members' didnt get any notification and when they logged in online they couldn't see the report. Wondering what we are doing wrong here. For background: - we have Power BI Premium Capacity - I have a PPU license - I am a workspace admin - the users have free Power BI accounts Thanks for any help with this.Produce daily counts out of period ranges
Hi. This is about observing and counting objects in a given space (physical or logical, it doesn't matter). Objects will enter a space in a given day and stay there for any number of days. What we want to know is how many objects are in that space at any given day. We want this object count over time, in a period of a month or so. The end result should be be something such as the chart below. The data model that I will be given is shown below I can't wrap my mind around what the count measure should be so that the visual above can be produced out of the Objects fact. Looking for any help in this regard. A few other details: - there is only one "space" where objects can get in - the same object will not enter the space more than once - users should be able to slice-and/dice the visual by the three dimensions shown above: date, color and size. Hi. We are aiming to run a POC for implementation of CICD for PowerBI with Azure DevOps. We found this article from Ivan Porta and decided to try it out: https://medium.com/swlh/automate-you-power-bi-reports-deployment-using-azure-devops-5ada8915d401 At the start of the article the author indicates how to register and configure a new app in Azure. Part of this task comprehends giving Tenant.ReadAll and Tenant.ReadWriteAll permissions to the new app. We couldn't do it because our Azure Admin team has security concerns about giving such broad privileges to an application. My question to this community is: has anybody managed to do the things indicated in this article but using a not so broad set of permissions? Thanks for any help.
