Re: Building signal of sales progress vs time passed
This is great, thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I have just one question, do you know how I can take the Sundays out of the calculation for total days & days left. Since we don't do business on Sundays (warehouse and stores are closed) it would be good to take that out of the equation822Views0likes1CommentBuilding signal of sales progress vs time passed
Hello, I have a request from our CFO to create a new analysis that lets us know how our invoicing for the month is progressing compared to the forecast. I would need an indicator to know the percentage of days left for the month in order to compare to the percentage of days left to invoice to hit the forecasts. The purpose of this signal is to show a chart by our global regions and to show each month which regions (Eg. Europe) are behind the trend of their submitted forecasts. The Power BI database I have is completely manually maintained based on excel files updated manually 2x per week. Does anyone have any ideas of how to build the DAX formula and how to implement this visual? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, RSolved884Views0likes5CommentsFiltering differently on several metrics in the same matrix table
Hello, I would like to see if there is a simple way to filter metrics individually on Power BI desktop. For example, I have a matrix table that shows the Month to date (MTD) invoiced sales and our forecast and the performance versus last year. In the same table, I also have the same metrics but for a different timing of year to date (YTD). I do this for several different metrics and thus I'm currently creating formulas to filter on the month or year for each one. I imagine that there is a simpler way, can anyone help me with this? Please see below a screen shot of the table: Thanks for your help339Views0likes1CommentRe: Updating a text box with database update date
Hello, I created a table in excel with a column for showing when each of my databases were updated. I created a DAX measure based on the one that noted above. Then I put the measure into a card but it is showing blank. Would you be able to help to show me where I am going wrong JoeBarry Excel table: DAX measure: Card showing blank for measure: Thanks,826Views0likes1CommentRe: How to create a YTD button & Period filter
Thanks ribisht Unfortunately, the videos on time intelligence don't answer exactly what I am lookingfor since the date table that I update is manual and therefore sometimes the MTD will not exactly be based on todays date. My request for the moment was actually much more simple: how can I have the same tab "MTD", "QTD", "YTD", but filtering on the month table that I have copied above.1.3KViews0likes0CommentsHow to create a YTD button & Period filter
Hello, I have a finance report and with a filter for the months of the year. I would like to add a horizontal filter where the user can choose YTD (the finished months of the year) and a button for "period" which is the ongoing open month. The table for the months looks like the below (i use the field "month so short") Could you help me identify the easiest way to create a button for 'YTD' & 'period'. For example, at the moment YTD would filter from Jan to Aug, and period would filter for Sep. merci1.4KViews0likes3CommentsUpdating a text box with database update date
Hello, I have a report with several manual excel database. One of the databases, I update 2 times a week and the other I update every tuesday. My report has several pages that associate the different reports. I would like to put a text box on all the pages that I can update just once (either through a DAX code or something else) that just says when the data on a certain page was updated. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks,Solved857Views0likes3CommentsHow to provide link in one Power BI report to Another
Hello, I have a home page in my power BI report. My power BI report is a summary of our overall business and there are other power BI reports that show details of the business. I would like to provide links in my home page to these other power BI applications in my home page so the management can easily access them. What is the best way to go about this? Can you please provide me the steps on how to include a hyper link or something like that in my report? Thanks,Solved564Views0likes1CommentRe: Deleting columns from appended manual Excel tables
Hi Joe, Sorry I don't think I was very clear. I meant I want to delete a column from all of the tables and make sure that the refresh functioned in excel. I don't want to delete an entire table. Normally in the advanced editor, there is the "changed type" step that includs all the columns but in the appended table this does not exist. Therefore, if I remove the columns from the excel source data I think the refresh would give me an error.914Views0likes1CommentDeleting columns from appended manual Excel tables
Hello, I am using several excel tables as my source of data in power BI. I have appended the tables into one table to have one single vision of sales. I would like to delete one of the unnecessary tables from this appended query. I looked up some videos and articles. I understand the best way is to go to the "advanced editor" in power query and delete the column from there. My one problem that I have is in the appended table I can't seem to find the list of columns in the advanced editor whereas in all the others I can find it. Can anyone give any help with this?Solved921Views0likes3Comments
