Disable Data Source functinoality
It would be great if there was a way to disable a Gateway data source from the Data Source Setting screen. Currently you can only remove permissions and delete. Disable would allow us to know for sure that nothing is using the data source before decommissioning it.101Views1like1CommentGateway Data source notes field
The Datasource Settings screen on the On-Premise data Gateway should have a notes field where administrators could put a couple of lines of text about the data source. Occasionally, an On-Premise Data Gateway server will be having issues. All refreshes running through that Gateway server will be failing. Why is there no way to notify the Gateway Administrators / PowerBi Administrators, of these failures which are indicators of a problem. PowerBi Admins need to have the ability to at least view dataset settings. Gateway connection, Data source credentials, parameters, schedule refresh etc. It is very difficult to help our users when we cannot even see how they have things set. How do you monitor this type of activity? With the Prem-logs? We are struggling with refresh performance, timeouts and failure and I would like to see if this is part of our issue.
