Re: PowerBI reports and dashboard on-premise hosting
A while back Microsoft announced that it would be moving Office 365 data "in region". For Australians that meant data within our borders at Australian datacentres. To their credit, Microsoft delivered on this. It would be great to see the same thing with PowerBI. I do understand that some enterprises desire an on-premises version. But I think that there is a segment which would be happy with "in region". Ideally, Microsoft would offer both. What I think should be avoided is creating a dichotomy between "data somewhere in the cloud" and "on-prem" because the on prem solution is likely to be very capital intensive. This could be mitigated by using Azure but smaller enterprises would still need to confront the cost and trouble of maintaining their own servers.706Views0likes0Comments
