Favorit demo was : DEMO3 connecting power BI using Synapse Data Link because we are in the middle to implement it, this DEMO give me some practical ideas (specialy chart at time 52:09 used to explain "custom report views" for self BI datasets).

Great show, really informative.  I liked the direct query to dataverse that picks up the security out of the box.  I will have to give it ago to see what the performance is like.  Thanks!

Great to hear.

Keep in mind that comparing Direct Query to Import is an unequal matching. -There are advantages to Direct Query that Import doesn't have (security inheritance, subset querying massive datasets, just-in-time updates of data) - but the downside is that there is going to be a lag that is perceptible to the user while the query is executed and data retrieved from the server. - For that reason, it's a specialty use-case and should be used with very tightly optimized queries for relatively small resultsets. -

Q: This was hinted at when Scott mentioned the 80MB limit for queries against Dataverse/CRM. Is there any negative impact to the performance of CRM when connecting directly via PBI?

Due to the TDS endpoint's architecutre's isolation and design, there's little to no discernable impact to the rest of the application performance for other users when a report is run.

I liked the demo for connecting to the datamodel from Power BI

Q: I can chain dataflows together by using one dataflow as the source for another downstream dataflow. Can I do the same thing with Dataverse? Can one dataverse be used as the source for another dataverse?

@justinh  - Data from one environment can be copied to another using tools like SSIS/ADF - but there's not a facility to make one environment a live sync'd or super/subset of another.

There's no 'special' or additional license needed to integrate the products.

Love the ability for Power BI/Power Query to pull in the Dynamics column names in the Import from Dataverse. Hoping that this feature will get added as a view or something like that so that we don't have to deal with those background "ugly" names in Azure Synapse Link for Dataverse. 🙂  Thanks Scott, great to see you again and all of your Dataverse goodness.
