    Thanks for the detailed explanation.

I would like to understand how to make field parameters work in PBI Desktop connected live with SSAS cube.

I do agree there is certain limations on the live connection where all of the edit options are greyed out.

Let me know if there is any alternate thought.

    Thanks,

    Bimal

This is awesome.  Thank you so much.  Placing the Axis Slicer in the Legend is very convenient also.

What if your totals are different formats? You want for example a sum of sales ($), total quantity (#), and percent total (%) - will the field parameter account for this on the axis and show correctly? All the examples I've seen so far are for numbers only or percents only across all fields chosen.

@StaceyR , if you use only the measure slicer. It will take care of the measure format. In this example, I have both % and number together.

    https://amitchandak.medium.com/power-bi-field-parameters-a-quick-way-for-dynamic-visuals-fc4095ae9af...

Make sure the format option of measure is used. (Under measure tools or under property pane of data model)

But if you create a measure on the top of the measure slicer measure, it might not work as the measure can have a single format.

for such cases use calculation groups

I will try out a visualization in which both axis are field slicers. This will give users option exploring different scenarios without switching pages.

I'm quite amazed st the way how field parameters can make our lives easy. It's an amazing alternative to using bookmarks as slicer.

And the icing on the cake was color slicer as shown by Amit.  Kudos to Amit.  Keep up the good work.
