suddenly a date hierarchy went missing in a report - but its there

Hi, i'll have to gather and post here the images i captured but a peer contacted me last week saying his reports werent rendering completely.   i looked and some pages were complaining that a fiscal date hierarchy was REMOVED.   And there was a "fix this" button everywhere it was a problem.  eventually i downloaded and tried hitting the "fix this" button everywhere and each time it fixed (or at least semed to) the issue.  But maybe more importantly, i looked at the semantic model and the supposedly removed hierarchy was there even before i hit any of the "fix this" buttons.  and it wasnt hidden.

what can explain this crazy scenario,.

thanks jianpeng, this hierarchy appears to be custom created by us.  the fact that a month year is inluded makes me pretty sure.  if a hierarchy is custom made is there another explanation for pbi saying its missing when its clearly there in the semantic model and nothing we know of has changed?

HI, @db042190

After my testing, I created a custom hierarchy structure and published it to Power BI Service, and it still works:

Are you able to re-establish the hierarchy and then upload it into Service to verify the source of the current issue?
If your new hierarchy structure is working, it's important to check what happened to the original report

Hi, @db042190

Power BI's automatic date/time feature automatically generates a date hierarchy for the date columns in the model. If this feature is disabled or the column settings are changed in some way, it might explain why the hierarchy seems to be gone. You can check the following document:

Auto date/time in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

This can happen if the report has not been refreshed after making changes to the model.
You can refresh your report by following the image below:
