share externally

Hello Everyone,

Currently, we use the licence Power Bi pro to share many reports in external.
The externals users must to have a licence power bi pro (free try) to consult our reports.

We are going to switch from a licence Power bi pro to a licence power bi premium by users because we need to have a bigger capacity.
If i good understand, the users will have to use a licence power bi premium too to consult ?

Is there a way that external users can consult our reports without taking out a license?

Thanks in advance.

Have a nice day

Hi, @Sylvine_Wyz

If you are referring to the content in a Premium Per User (PPU) workspace or app,  it is inevitable that the user need have the PPU license to view it.

The following table describes who can see which kinds of content with PPU.

Please refer to this documents for more details.

For you requirement, you can consider sharing it through publish to web. Although this way of sharing does not consider the user's PowerBI license, there are certain risks in data security.

Hello @Sylvine_Wyz ,
you can share your power bi report to external people without a license, on the other hand this exposes your data model to everyone, anyone from google can access their data.
There is a solution to avoid this but it uses embedded power bi

Hi. I haven't tried premium with externals but let me tell you the theory. If you are talking about Premium capacity, the Viewer users can get access with just Power Bi Free license. That's the idea of the premium. Make sure you are talking about Power Bi Premium and not the new license Power Bi Premium per users (that's a different thing).

Remember you always have the developer option. Purchasing Power Bi Embed and develop a web app to contain Power Bi to share with any external.

Hope this make sense.
P/D I'll ask some user that I know has shared premium with externals to validate this.

Great suggested solution... for a ready-made web app for sharing / assigning users, you could try Binokula.
