service principal as datasource credential?

hi,   i am using power bi premium to host analysis services models. it is possible to use a service principal to acess the underlying database, which is synapse? I cannot seem to login as a servi...

Hi jessegorter,

 

The user name of AS credentials must match a defined user principal name (UPN) within the local Active Directory domain.

If you want to make service principal as datasource credential, service principal need to be in local Active Directory domain.

    Hi, nothing is on premises here. It is a visual studio .bim file which we hosts in Power BI Premium. However, in the dataset i cannot login as a app registration
