I need to determine how long users are viewing a report in each session to filter out "noise" sessions. For example, a user could have viewed a report 5 times in one day. However, if the length of time in each view is <1 minute, then the user probably didn't really inspect the visuals in the report on that day -- he / she probably just opened and closed the report 5 times. How can I expose this session time in a modified view of the Usage Metrics report? I have connected to its dataset in Power BI Desktop, but I don't see any field or measure that would allow me to surface this. I also inspected the audit logs, but I don't see any activity type that would surface this either.
For comparison, this metric is available OOTB in the QMC in Qlik Sense. So, it's reasonable to expect it to be available OOTB in Power BI as well.

You're right. Just as a user can introduce noisy sessions by viewing a report several times a day but spending very little time in each session, a user can also introduce noisy sessions by opening a report and stepping away from the workstation. I solve that by defining an expected session time per report to filter out both scenarios.
Hi qubit813,
I do not believe that this metric exists at this time. I didn't find an idea out their that would match this exact need either. If you create an idea, please respond that you did so and I will vote for it with you!

I just posted an idea for this. The idea name is "Usage Metrics Report - new measure - session time".
Hi @Anonymous,
That is great! Be sure to share the idea with friends, family and co-workers to get mroe votes!

how do you plan to measure sessions where the user just leaves the page open and steps away from the computer?
