Hi!
Firs of all, thanks for reading my question. I am suffering from huge performance problems and I am trying to find out every fact that could lead to that. In this case, I am asking about the message from Power BI saying that my data is stored in X location. Since I am using direct query, could this be a problem and cause problems of latency? Because I understand that in my case, Power BI is not storing data, as much as the design of my reports?
Thanks
Hi, @maserr
When you use DirectQuery mode, the overall experience of interacting with reports depends very much on the performance of the underlying data source. The data is stored in the data source instead of Power BI.
You can take a look at this document to get more guidance on DirectQuery modeling in Power BI desktop and considering if it’s possible to convert to a Composite Model:

Here’s some limitation of Direct query mode, you can learn from it:

Correct-ish. Even with Direct Query your data may still be traveling through a gateway and through Azure Service Bus.
You may be better off starting with Performance monitoring on the DAX side (with DAX Studio) or on the Power Query side with the Query Diagnostics options.
