Hi all,
We have power bi pro license in my company and i have published my dashboards in power bi service and scheduled refresh times.
But in some hours refresh get failed and some hours it works. Do you have any option for this matter?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @kavi_Ruksh99 - Go to Power BI Service → Dataset → Refresh History and check the specific error message for failed refreshes. Common errors include:
Timeout issues
Memory constraints
Gateway issues
Authentication failures
Suggestion: Remove unnecessary columns & tables.Refresh only new data instead of the full dataset.Ensure efficient filtering & aggregation.
If multiple datasets refresh at the same time, try staggering refresh schedules to avoid high server load.

Hi @kavi_Ruksh99 ,
If your scheduled refreshes in Power BI Service are failing intermittently, even with a Power BI Pro license, it’s often due to issues with the data source connection, gateway reliability, or network instability during specific time windows. Make sure the data gateway (if you're using on-premises data) is correctly installed, configured, and updated.
You can also check the refresh history for detailed error messages, which often indicate whether the failure is due to timeouts, credential issues, or resource limitations. Additionally, avoid scheduling multiple dataset refreshes at the same time, as overlapping refreshes can strain system resources and lead to failures. Staggering the refresh schedule slightly and ensuring the data gateway is always online can help improve consistency.
