link that does not give access

Hi community,

i would like to create a catalogue of the powerbi reports i have with a link to the report that DOES NOT give access.

I want people to still request for access if they need it. can i do that?

Kind regards,

Hi, @alevandenes

As Ibendlin said, Power BI doesn't support sharing links directly without granting access. When you share a report link, it essentially involves granting access to the recipient.

You might consider creating a table of contents page or document that lists all the reports and their titles, and perhaps a brief description. This directory can then be shared with users. Or instruct users to request access by contacting you or the report owner directly. Once you receive the request, you can manually grant access to the report as needed.

To manage access requests more effectively, consider taking advantage of the Power BI service's built-in access request capabilities. When a user tries to access a report they don't have permission to, they can request access through the service, and the report owner will be notified of the approval or rejection of the request.

That's automatic.  Any link will challenge the users to request access if they don't have the access.
