it's not possible to attach a visualization to a dashboard

good day

I am the owner of a dataset and a report and can easily attach a visualization to a dashboard.

if I try the same thing with one of my employees, it won't work. however, the employee has read access to the dataset and the report. I also tested to grant the highest possible access, but attaching a visual to the employee's dashboard does not work.

the button is grayed out and cannot be pressed

Could you please help me?

Hi @martinobermayr ,

You didn't do anything wrong. It just doesn't support to pin visuals from shared reports unfortunately.

However, you have gave the user build permisson of your dataset, he could create a new report and pin visuals to his own dashboard.

Hope this can help you.

Hi @martinobermayr ,

I guess you just share a report to the user. You don't add him into your workspace. If so, please assign him one of role (member, contributor or admin) to have a try.  It is not supported to pin visuals into dashboard.

Hi @v-xuding-msft

Thanks for your tip.
You are right, I share the report with the user. I don't want to share my workspace or dashboard with him.

I want the user to be able to pin visuals from this shared report to his own dashboard.

I can stick visuals from my report to my dashboard, but he cannot do this with the shared report on his own dash.

To test this, i even gave the user full rights to my dataset and the report. but it still doesn't work. I do not understand that.

Could you please take a look at these screenshots: https://ibb.co/tLnTQ0Q
