Impactful Individualgateway for snowflake
i am using direct query connection to connect power bi desktop with snowflake , do i need gateway to refresh the same report to show the latest data available in snowflake in power bi service?

It depends on the firewall restrictions at your snowflake datasource end. Though snowflakes is a cloud datasource, Power BI service cannot connect to it with out gateway setup, if snowflakes datasource is restricted with firewall rules. Check with your internal team and act accordingly.
