do i need data gateway to refresh power bi report using azure sql database
Thank you for reaching out Microsoft fabric community forum.
As mentioned by hackcrr An on-premises gateway is not required. Azure SQL DB supports a cloud gateway connection, where you can configure it directly and specify it for your semantic model. In addition ,You need a data gateway if you are connecting to an on-premises SQL Server database (not Azure SQL Database).
